"Feifei, I heard that someone is looking for a man for her family," Gao Chunying said quietly, glancing at Ye Ting on the kang.
"What? Isn't that a bit too urgent? He and my brother just..." Ye Fangfei was so surprised that she forgot to keep her voice down. When Ye Ting looked up from the kang, she quickly stopped speaking.
"Well, I heard it's to help her brother find a job," Gao Chunying continued.
"They're in such a hurry to sell the job. If they don't hurry up and get the money, someone else will buy it," she added.
"Honestly, I don't know what she's thinking. Is she really going to let her parents sell her off again?" Ye Fangfei sighed.
"Exactly! Parents should be filial, but there should be limits. It's ridiculous that she's letting her parents control her life like this. It leaves me speechless," Gao Chunying lamented, thinking of Yi Xiaoli.
"Does my brother know about this? What has he said?" Ye Fangfei asked, concerned about Ye Zhi Jun.
"Ah, he mentioned it when he came back. I've noticed he's been in a bad mood these past couple of days. Can you talk to him at lunch today?"
"He still has feelings for Yi Xiaoli; otherwise, he wouldn't let her take all her salary back to her family."
"Yi Xiaoli is really something. Not only did she take her salary home, but she also took the little savings they had left. It even led to Tingting getting injured and not having money for hospitalization. That's when your brother got really angry."
"Actually, this didn't make your brother decide to divorce her; there are other reasons for that," Gao Chunying's voice gradually rose as she spoke.
"Mom." Ye Fangfei called out softly, glancing at Ye Ting.
Gao Chunying's expression softened as she looked at her grandson, lowering her voice: "Back when Yi Xiaoli had the miscarriage, it wasn't an accident. It was intentional."
"What? What happened?" This time, Ye Fangfei was truly shocked and couldn't care less about Ye Ting being present; her voice couldn't be suppressed.
Gao Chunying nodded: "Yes, it happened at her family's place. She claimed she tripped over something because she couldn't see where she was stepping."

"After all, it was a child she carried for months; losing it must have hurt her more than any of us could imagine."
"So when she said it was an accident, none of us doubted it. We never thought that she lost the baby because of something related to her brother."
"When Yi Xiaoli was a few months pregnant, one day while she was at work, her mother rushed into the factory looking for her: 'Xiaoli, you need to come home right away; there's been an incident.'"
"Mom, don't panic! What happened at home?" Yi Xiaoli pulled her mother aside.
"Xiaoli, you have to help your little brother this time!" Yi Xiaoli's mother cried out.
"What happened to him? Mom, please tell me!" Yi Xiaoli was genuinely worried about her brother and felt anxious upon hearing that he was in trouble.
"He was deceived, and now those people have come to the house. They said if we don't pay them back, they'll break your brother's legs."
"Xiaoli, please save your brother. You watched him grow up," her mother pleaded, tears streaming down her face.
Yi Xiaoli hadn't realized the situation was so serious, but since her mother had come to her for help, she couldn't just ignore it. However, she thought about her own safety and worried about what might happen, so she wanted to find Ye Zijun to go with her.
"Mom, wait a moment. I'm going to find Zijun. We'll go together," Yi Xiaoli said as she turned to leave.
But her mother quickly stopped her. "Xiaoli, there's no need to find Zijun. This isn't something to be proud of. If he finds out, it won't be easy for you in your in-laws' eyes either."
"And it's not a big deal; we just need to give them the money."
