Old Li was well-known in the factory for being a loudmouth; she seemed to know everything that happened around there. Luo Ya introduced her niece to Hao Chunying's son, and since she had nothing to hide, she was well-acquainted with many people. Old Li was one of them. The reason she came over was that she noticed both Hao Chunying and Luo Ya looked upset from a distance, as if they were having an argument. She wanted to see the commotion, which is why she approached.
However, now that the two parties involved had left, she turned around and headed toward the restroom, using the excuse of needing to go.
Back at her workstation, Hao Chunying was still fuming. How could there be such people who wanted benefits without taking on any responsibilities? Where was the fairness in that? If the other party had been reasonable, she might have considered handing over her work to them. After all, she only had two children, Ye Zhi Jun and Ye Fang Fei. Ye Fang Fei had her own job and wasn't concerned about her mother-in-law's work at all. So it would have been normal for her to pass her work to her daughter-in-law.
But how could it be said? This was her job; she could choose to give it up if she wanted. However, if someone reached out and demanded it from her or even schemed to get it, that made her uncomfortable.
Thinking this way, Hao Chunying felt a bit relieved that Luo Ya's niece had revealed herself early on. If they got married later and played their cards right, maybe even had a child, they might have tricked Hao Chunying into giving them her job. If that happened and they treated Ye Ting poorly, it would be truly unbearable for her.
Sighing at the thought of her son, Hao Chunying felt troubled. Everything at home was fine except for her son's rocky marriage.
That evening at dinner, Hao Chunying shared the Luo family's plans with Ye Jianguo and Ye Zhi Jun. "How can there be such people? They even have their eyes on my job! Thankfully, they revealed themselves early; otherwise, we might have been deceived." Hao Chunying still felt angry when recalling the incident.
"What’s the big deal? A young lady marrying in will surely want something; otherwise, who would willingly marry a divorced man with children?" Ye Jianguo understood the situation clearly.
"She can want my job fine, but she can't expect to have it all! Wanting benefits without taking care of the children—where's the fairness in that?" Hao Chunying exclaimed.
Ye Jianguo shot a glance at Ye Ting, worried that further discussion might upset him. He quickly interrupted Hao Chunying, "Alright now, it's all in the past; let's not dwell on it."
After saying this, he exchanged glances with Hao Chunying and then looked at Ye Ting.
Hao Chunying realized that their child was still present and that discussing this topic wasn't appropriate. "Forget it; anyway, this matter is settled now. There's no point in getting worked up over it."
However, while Hao Chunying and the others moved on from the incident, the Luo family did not let it go so easily. After work, Luo Ya did not head home immediately but instead returned to her parents' house first.
When her sister-in-law saw her return, she thought that Hao Chunying had agreed to their conditions.
"How is it? Did they agree?" she asked eagerly. "My Meizi is a precious daughter, willing to marry their son. Their family must be overjoyed!" Luo Ya's sister-in-law felt quite pleased.
Luo Ya looked at her sister-in-law, speechless. She couldn't understand what was going through her mind.
As for her niece, it wasn't just her opinion; if it weren't for Ye Zijun's divorce and the fact that he had a child, her niece really wouldn't be a match for him.
