After all, her brother had been divorced once; it wouldn’t do to have him go through that again. Hao Chunying also respected the Luo family’s position on this matter.
"Well, I think it’s good they brought it up now," she continued. "It’s just a blind date; if it doesn’t work out, then so be it."
In truth, they were being foolish; Tingting was already seven years old and didn’t need her care anymore. Besides, she and her father were still young; Tingting's matters shouldn’t weigh heavily on her mind, Ye Fangfei complained.
"You’re right about that! Your dad and I are currently saving money, just in case your brother remarries and Tingting needs support."
"Of course, our money isn’t all for Tingting; Little Moon deserves some too, and when you have children in the future, they’ll have their share as well."
"Of course, it depends on the situation. If your brother can’t take care of Tingting, then she will definitely need more support," Hao Chunying shared their plans with her daughter without holding back.
Ye Fangfei hadn’t expected Hao Chunying and her husband were also thinking of saving money for Little Moon and the others. This seemed normal for Ye Ting since his mother had remarried. Although his father was good to him, who knew how things would turn out after remarriage? Having a stepmother often meant having a stepfather as well; that wasn’t just talk—most men were like that.
Even though Ye Zijun treated Ye Ting well now and said that even if he got married, he wouldn’t want children for ten years.
However, this was just talk; even if it were Ye Fangfei, not even her own mother, Hao Chunying, would believe it.
That’s why the old couple, Hao Chunying and her husband, decided to save some money for their grandson, considering it a safety net for the child. Ye Fangfei understood and supported this, but Xiao Yue Liang did not. After all, both she and Tang Zhicheng had jobs and additional income; they certainly wouldn’t neglect Xiao Yue Liang.
“Mom, just save a little for Ye Ting. Xiao Yue Liang has us,” Ye Fangfei said.
“Come on, you can’t just focus on your grandson while ignoring your niece completely, can you?” Hao Chunying replied. “Your father and I have already discussed this. If your brother marries someone unreliable, we’ll give more to Tingting. If she treats him well, then the kids will share equally.”
“You two should focus on taking care of yourselves instead of saving money for them,” Ye Fangfei insisted. “What happens when they grow up is a long way off; why worry about it now? Just take care of yourselves.” She was concerned that the old couple would only think about saving money and end up depriving themselves of food and drink, damaging their health in the process.
