As the seasons changed, time passed day by day, and soon four months had gone by. Little Moon was already seven years old and had started elementary school this autumn, now a first grader. Moreover, she had proudly taken on the role of an older sister. 0

"Mom, please take the baby away! He keeps bothering me and won't let me do my homework!" Little Moon exclaimed helplessly, looking at her little brother who clung to his pen stubbornly. 0

"Just wait until I finish steaming the buns," Ye Fangfei replied, quickening her pace. She swiftly placed the dough into the steamer and hurried inside to pick up her son. 0

"You little rascal, why can't you just sit still for a moment? Don't you know that you shouldn't disturb your sister while she's doing her homework? If you keep being naughty, I'll tie you up with a rope tomorrow!" Ye Fangfei chattered on. 0

It was hard to tell if it was because he was a boy or just his nature, but this little guy was nothing like Little Moon when she was younger—so well-behaved. He was always bouncing around, getting into mischief, and never seemed to have a moment of quiet. 0

Perhaps children were drawn to each other; he adored Little Moon. Whenever they were at home, he would follow her like a little shadow, stumbling along behind her. Even when she was doing her homework, he would sit beside her. 0

Little Moon found him annoying, and whenever that happened, she would ask Ye Fangfei to take him away. 0

"Sister! Sister!" Even after being picked up, he stretched out his hands calling for her. 0

"Alright, Little Sun," (Ye Fangfei's new son was named Tang Xinyang, with the nickname Little Sun to match his sister Little Moon), "can you settle down for a bit? Mommy will get you something to eat." Ye Fangfei said as she handed him two cookies. 0

"Give it to Sister! Give it to Sister!" He insisted on sharing and wanted to offer the treat to his sister instead of eating it himself. 0

Ye Fangfei quickly pulled him back: "You eat it yourself; your sister has her own." 0

Not bothered by being pulled back, he began circling around Ye Fangfei again. 0

Tang Zhi had gone out again, leaving just the three of them at home. Although the two children were used to their father being away from time to time, it didn’t stop them from asking: "Mom, how many days has Dad been gone? When will he come back?" 0

"Almost there," Ye Fangfei said, calculating the days. "Your dad said he would be back from Haicheng tomorrow, barring any unforeseen circumstances." 0

"Great! Dad promised to buy me a new pencil case and a new dress to wear back home!" Xiao Yue Liang exclaimed joyfully. 0

Ye Fangfei couldn't believe that Tang Zhi had agreed to such unreasonable requests from Xiao Yue Liang. "You’ve only used your pencil case for one semester; it’s perfectly fine! Why do you need a new one?" she questioned. "And a dress? It’s snowing outside, and it’s even colder back home. What do you need a dress for?" 0

Tang Zhi really had no words when it came to the kids; all he did was spoil them. There was nothing she could do but play the role of the strict mother, while Tang Zhi continued to indulge their whims. Otherwise, they would be completely uncontrollable. 0

After dinner, Ye Fangfei first played with the two children for a while before sending her daughter to sleep in the west room. Xiao Yue Liang had been sleeping alone since she was five years old. Even in winter, Ye Fangfei didn’t let her move back in with them. They weren’t short on money for coal, so there was no need to go through all that trouble. 0

Watching her daughter snuggle into the blankets, Ye Fangfei tucked in the corners before turning off the light and heading back. In the east room, little Taiyang was also dozing off against his bedding. 0

Ye Fangfei quickly helped him out of his clothes and tucked him into bed as well. Once both children were asleep, she let out a long sigh of relief and lay down on the kang in a starfish position. These two kids were certainly not as simple as one plus one equals two. 0
