What Wang said during the day was confirmed for Ye Fangfei when she got home after work that evening.
When Ye Fangfei arrived at Xiao Yue Liang's house, Tang Zhicheng was already there. He had picked up their son and prepared dinner. Seeing Ye Fangfei and the others arrive, he first took the bicycle and then lifted his daughter down from the seat.
He didn't forget to say, "Wife, you’re here? Wash your hands first and have some warm water. We’ll eat soon."
Xiao Yue Liang was also very excited to see her father. After he finished speaking, she quickly asked, "Daddy, where's my pencil case? Did you buy me a dress?"
It turned out she wasn't just looking for her dad; she was eager for the things he had promised to bring her.
"Of course I bought them! How could Daddy not get what I promised my little girl?" Tang Zhicheng replied. "Everything is inside; let’s go take a look." He said this while picking up his daughter.
"Daddy is the best! I love Daddy the most!" Xiao Yue Liang sweetly exclaimed, giving Tang Zhicheng a kiss on the cheek.
Tang Zhicheng was delighted by this affection from his daughter and grinned foolishly as he said, "Daddy loves our little Yue Liang the most too."
"Not only did I buy your pencil case, but I also got you a dress. I even bought you a cotton jacket that’s fluffy inside and feels really warm."
"I got you a pair of little leather shoes lined with rabbit fur, perfect for wearing at home. And there’s chocolate too—foreign candy that Daddy spent a lot of money on just for you."
As Tang Zhicheng chatted away while carrying his daughter to show her the things he had brought, Ye Fangfei went into the house to pour herself some hot water to wash her hands and face before picking up their son to cuddle him for a bit.
"Did you behave well at Grandma Zhao's today? Were you good? What did you eat?" Ye Fangfei asked as she kissed her son's little face.
"I was good! I had cookies and milk," Little Taiyang replied. Although he was small and his speech wasn’t very clear, he had a good memory and could recall everything he ate that afternoon.
Hearing this made Ye Fangfei feel relieved. She had sent over plenty of snacks with Grandma Zhao for Little Taiyang when he got hungry. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Grandma Zhao; it was just that she worried about her child being upset in places where she couldn’t see him.
Every day, she would bring extra snacks for Grandma Zhao because Little Taiyang, being just a small child, couldn’t possibly finish everything on his own.
Ye Fangfei deliberately took more, hoping that Zhao Danniang would not skimp on the children's food. Of course, this might be a reflection of Ye Fangfei's petty mindset. However, as a mother, she always wanted to think a little more and do a little more, fearing that her child would suffer any grievances.
Now that she knew her child had indeed eaten those things, Ye Fangfei felt relieved. At that moment, Tang Zhicheng also came out with their daughter to wash their hands and eat.
Xiao Yueying's excitement had not yet faded. Seeing Ye Fangfei, she rushed over, exclaiming, "Mommy, Daddy bought me a new dress and new shoes! And there’s so much food!"
"Really? Can I see the little dress? Will you wear it for Mommy to see later?" Ye Fangfei coaxed her daughter with a smile while shooting a fierce glare at Tang Zhicheng.
There was no one who spoiled children like him; every time he went out, he would come back with a pile of things for Xiao Yueying. She didn’t oppose Tang Zhicheng buying things for the child. It was normal for him to bring back some snacks or toys from his trips. After all, it could help strengthen their bond and prevent him from becoming distant due to frequent business trips.
But there should be limits; he couldn't just buy whatever she wanted whenever she asked! With the children around now, Ye Fangfei decided not to confront him just yet. She would settle the score with him later when the children were asleep.
