Tang Zhicheng was taken by surprise when his daughter-in-law suddenly kissed him. After a moment of confusion, joy washed over him—immense joy. He felt an overwhelming urge to pull her into his arms and kiss her again and again. However, there were still two little ones at home waiting for their meal.
He reluctantly buried his thoughts deep in his heart, planning to deal with her later that evening. Just the thought of being able to spend time with her in that way made his heart race. He wished it were already night.
But hearing the sounds of the two children playing outside snapped him back to reality. Sighing, he decided it was best to focus on cooking first; filling their bellies was the priority.
“Tang Zhicheng called out, “Dinner time! Daughter-in-law, can you help the kids wash their hands? We’ll eat soon.”
Ye Fangfei replied, “Okay, Little Moon, take your brother to wash up while I get the bowls and chopsticks.”
She trusted her daughter to lead her brother without worry. After all, it was a simple task that Little Moon could easily handle.
As Tang Zhicheng saw Ye Fangfei enter to grab the dishes, he peeked outside and noticed the two kids washing their hands at the basin. In a playful moment, he pulled Ye Fangfei inside and quickly covered her mouth with his hand.
Ye Fangfei playfully slapped his hands away but went along with him. They shared a brief kiss, but they both knew they had to be cautious about the children coming in.
Reluctantly, Tang Zhicheng released her but leaned in close to whisper fiercely in her ear, “Just wait; I’ll show you how I’m going to deal with you tonight.”
Not one to back down easily, Ye Fangfei shot back with a teasing challenge, “Bring it on! Who’s afraid?”
Her little demeanor and expression made Tang Zhicheng want nothing more than to whisk her away into another room right then and there. But Ye Fangfei wasn’t foolish; after her playful provocation, she quickly grabbed the bowls and left.
Tang Zhicheng stood there laughing to himself, thinking, “Alright then, just wait until tonight when you’re begging for mercy.”
Meanwhile, as Ye Fangfei stepped outside, she faced her daughter’s concerned gaze and felt a bit embarrassed as she fiddled with her toes on the ground.
“Mommy, what happened to your mouth? Why is it so red?” Little Moon asked, genuinely worried about her mother.
"It's nothing, I just burned myself a little while drinking water," Ye Fangfei awkwardly made an excuse.
Tang Zhicheng heard his daughter's words and quickly stepped in to ease the tension. "Come on, it's time to eat. Little Moon, hurry up and serve the rice; your favorite Fish-Flavored Shredded Pork is ready."
Upon hearing about the Fish-Flavored Shredded Pork, Little Moon instantly forgot about her mother's lips and hurried to the dining table to serve herself.
Ye Fangfei shot Tang Zhicheng a fierce glare before turning her back on him and quickly taking a seat at the table.
Tang Zhicheng rubbed his nose, realizing he had annoyed his wife. He decided to focus on getting their son to eat instead.
The family enjoyed a lively lunch together, but Tang Zhicheng noticed Ye Fangfei putting down her chopsticks. He reminded Little Moon to keep an eye on her younger brother before quickly pulling Ye Fangfei back into the room.
"What are you doing? The kids are still outside!" Ye Fangfei shook off Tang Zhicheng's hand as soon as they were inside.
Tang Zhicheng was taken aback for a moment but quickly realized that his wife had misunderstood him. He hurried to explain, "Wife, don't get me wrong. I just wanted you to see something."
"What is it?" Ye Fangfei thought that Tang Zhicheng couldn't be that irresponsible.
Without wasting any more time, Tang Zhicheng pulled out a large bag from the cupboard. "Wife, look at this!"
"My goodness! Where did all this money come from?" Ye Fangfei took a quick glance inside and was so shocked that she quickly closed it again.
