"Third Brother, Third Brother's family, aside from eating, right?" Grandma Tang stood at the door.
"Ah, I'm here," Tang Zhicheng replied.
At that moment, Ye Fangfei had also finished dressing up Little Moon.
Tang Zhicheng looked at his newly adorned daughter and praised, "Wow, my big girl is really beautiful."
Little Moon looked up at Tang Zhicheng with sparkling eyes, her lips pressed together in a shy smile.
The more Tang Zhicheng looked at his daughter, the more he liked her. Unable to resist, he pulled her into his arms for a hug.
As Little Moon was lifted by her father, her eyes shone even brighter, and her cheeks flushed as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
With one hand holding his daughter, Tang Zhicheng reached out with the other to take Ye Fangfei's hand. "Wife, let’s go eat."
Ye Fangfei had also changed into a new outfit. She wore a long black velvet skirt that reached her ankles and a red sweater on top. Over it all was a white cashmere coat.
This outfit would not look out of place even in modern times.
"Wife, you look really good in this outfit," Tang Zhicheng whispered in Ye Fangfei's ear.
Ye Fangfei playfully shot him a glance. "Was I not good-looking before?"
"You were good-looking before too. But today you look especially stunning," Tang Zhicheng said with a smile.
When the family of three appeared before Grandma Tang and the others, Wang Zhaodi and Zhang Man were left dumbfounded.
Wang Zhaodi stammered, "This Third Brother's wife looks too beautiful in this outfit. She must be a fairy descended to earth."
Zhang Man glanced at Ye Fangfei's radiant appearance and then at her own oil-stained thick cotton coat.
She felt both envious and inferior; she was only a few years older than Ye Fangfei, yet standing next to her made it seem as if she could pass for Ye Fangfei's mother.
Aside from being jealous of Ye Fangfei's stylish clothes, Zhang Man envied her wealth and good circumstances with Tang Zhicheng.
Just this outfit alone must have cost several dozen yuan! And Little Moon was dressed in a lovely little dress with small leather boots on her feet.
It was clear that even those would cost quite a bit. Why did such a little girl need to dress so well?
"Third Sister-in-law, that outfit looks really good on you. But I bet it wasn't cheap, right?" Zhang Man remarked, eyeing the little moon-patterned skirt and the small leather boots. "You can really tell you're from the big city; we can't compare."
Ye Fangfei shot Zhang Man a glare and replied, "Yes, it wasn't inexpensive. If you know you can't compare, then don't. We earn our money and can spend it however we like."
Ye Fangfei had long been fed up with Zhang Man's constant sniping; her nagging had become a bad habit.
Zhang Man didn't expect Ye Fangfei to give her no face at all, and she was left speechless, unsure of how to retort.
Ye Fangfei wasn't wrong; if someone had money, they could spend it as they pleased.
Old Lady Tang also disapproved of Zhang Man stirring up trouble and scolded her, "You from the old home, keep your mouth shut. Why do you have so much to say? It just shows you've got a big mouth."
"What does it matter what Third Sister-in-law wears? Why are you talking about this?" Tang Zhiwu added his complaints.
Feeling the disapproving gazes of her family members, Zhang Man realized no one was on her side. Embarrassed, she turned and went back to her room.
Old Lady Tang worried that Ye Fangfei might harbor resentment towards the family and turned to her, saying, "Third Sister-in-law, don't stoop to your sister-in-law's level. Come on, dinner is ready; let's go eat."
"Okay, Mother," Ye Fangfei replied and followed her inside.
Ye Fangfei didn't take Zhang Man's comments to heart.
