Ye Fangfei didn't care whether Tang Zhijing would have a hard time going back, nor did she worry about whether Old Lady Tang would have any opinions about her. Holding the child, she sat there sulking.
Tang Zhicheng followed in right after her. Seeing Ye Fangfei sitting there with a puffed-up face, he stepped forward and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Wife, don’t be upset. It’s not worth ruining your health over this."
"Alright, I won’t be upset anymore. I just vented a little earlier, didn’t I?" she replied.
"Come on, wife, put on your coat. I’ll take you out to see the snow scenery," he said.
Ye Fangfei looked at the man who was trying hard to cheer her up and finally let out a laugh. "What’s so great about the snow scenery? It’s freezing outside. I’d rather stay indoors."
Seeing his wife smile, Tang Zhicheng finally relaxed his tense heart. However, he was serious about wanting to take Ye Fangfei out to see the sights.
"It may be cold outside, but the way the snow clings to the pine trees on the mountain is particularly beautiful. I want to take you to see it," Tang Zhicheng said.
Ye Fangfei thought for a moment; staying at home was indeed boring, and going out with Tang Zhicheng didn’t sound bad. But then she looked at their son in her arms and hesitated. "What about Little Sun? We can’t just take him with us, can we?"
Tang Zhicheng also felt that carrying the child wasn’t practical; it was too cold outside, and they wouldn’t want to risk Little Sun getting chilled. More importantly, he wanted to revisit the places they had been when they first got married and relive those moments together.
But this wasn’t a problem for Tang Zhicheng; he quickly came up with an idea. "How about I take our son to your sister-in-law and ask her to watch him for a while?" he suggested.
"Is that okay? It doesn’t feel right to leave our child with your sister-in-law while we go out," Ye Fangfei said hesitantly.
"It’ll be fine. Just wait here; I’ll take Little Sun over to her right now," Tang Zhicheng said as he reached out to pick up Little Sun.
However, Little Sun was not ready to cooperate. Although he was small, he understood that his parents were planning to leave him behind for some fun. When he saw Tang Zhicheng coming over to pick him up, he clung tightly to Ye Fangfei’s neck and protested, "Mama, together! Together!"
"Son, your aunt has delicious food over there. How about I take you to eat something tasty?" Tang Zhicheng coaxed him.
"No, no, no!" Little Sun shook his head vigorously like a rattle drum.
"It’s cold outside; you’ll freeze your ears off! Then you won’t have any ears left," Tang Zhicheng tried to scare him.
Little Sun reflexively touched his ears and realized they were still there. He then buried his head back into Ye Fangfei's shoulder.
No matter how much Tang Zhicheng coaxed, the child refused to go with him. In the end, Tang Zhicheng had no choice; he couldn't just ignore the child's wishes and forcibly take him away.
"Dear, why don't we take him with us?" he suggested to Ye Fangfei. "I'll put on my military coat and wrap him up so he won't get cold."
"Alright then," Ye Fangfei replied, as there was little else she could say.
"Great! You put on your coat, and we'll leave right away," Tang Zhicheng said, slipping into his military coat first.
He then took the little sun and tucked him inside his coat for warmth. Ye Fangfei also donned her coat, putting on her hat and gloves, fully equipped and ready to go. She stood up and said, "Let's go."
Tang Zhicheng called out from the yard, "Sister-in-law, we're going out for a stroll. We'll be back for dinner."
Wang Zhaodi and Zhang Man were discussing earlier events in Wang Zhaodi's room when they heard Tang Zhicheng's voice. Wang Zhaodi responded, "Got it, you two go ahead."
Watching Tang Zhicheng lead Ye Fangfei out of the courtyard, Zhang Man sighed enviously, "Old Three treats his wife so well. If it were me in today's situation, Zhiyu wouldn't stand by my side like Old Three does."
