At home, Hao Chunying had already rolled out the noodles, just waiting for Ye Fangfei and the others to return so she could cook them right away. Hao Chunying had come over in the afternoon, and the kang had been heated all day yesterday; she lit it up again today. 0

After peeking outside, she finally spotted Ye Fangfei and the others at the end of the alley. 0

Hao Chunying hurriedly jogged over to greet them. "Zhi, Feifei, you're back! You must be tired from the journey. I've rolled out the noodles; they’ll be ready to eat as soon as I cook them." 0

She then took the little sun from Tang Zhi's hands. 0

"Mom, you’ve worked hard," Tang Zhi said. 0

"Oh, what have I done? You all are the ones who sat on the bus for so long," she replied. "Come on, hurry inside." 0

"You all wash your hands and faces; I’ll go cook the noodles," Hao Chunying said. 0

Ye Fangfei and the others were indeed tired. Once inside, Ye Fangfei and Tang Zhi took the two children to wash up. Hao Chunying went to the kitchen to cook the noodles, while Ye Jianguo followed her to help. 0

Ye Zijun went to poke at the stove, trying to get the fire going stronger. 0

After washing her hands and face, Ye Fangfei took out two red sausages she had bought from the train station. 0

"Mom, make sure to cook more noodles; dinner will be ready soon. You all should eat here before heading back," Ye Fangfei said. 0

"Got it," Hao Chunying replied. 0

"Oh, these sausages look good! Did you bring them from home?" Ye Jianguo smiled as he looked at the sausages in Ye Fangfei's hands. 0

"Yes, Zhi bought these at the train station. He said they taste great and brought back quite a few. You should take some home with you when you go," Ye Fangfei explained. 0

"I'm not going to be polite; I really like these," Ye Jianguo said. 0

"Oh, why would you be polite with me? By the way, why didn’t Tingting and your sister-in-law come over?" Ye Fangfei asked while slicing the sausages. 0

"Tingting is at home doing his homework; your sister-in-law is keeping him company. He wanted to come when he knew you were back, but he’s been playing around all holiday and hasn’t finished his homework," Hao Chunying explained. 0

"School is starting soon; it’s not good that he hasn’t finished his homework." 0

"That’s a bad habit. Next time, let him finish his homework before playing," Ye Fangfei said. 0

"Yes, next holiday I’ll have your brother take him over; he listens well when he’s with your sister-in-law," Hao Chunying replied. 0

"Is my sister-in-law treating Tingting well?" Ye Fangfei asked with some concern. After all, she was a stepmother, and although she couldn't have children herself, it didn't guarantee that she would treat Tingting kindly. 0

"She's doing well. Usually, Tingting stays with me and your dad, and on Sundays when they have a day off, they come over. Sometimes your brother also takes Tingting to stay for a couple of days. Tingting says that every time he goes over, your sister-in-law makes him delicious food," Hao Chunying said, glancing outside and speaking softly. 0

Ye Fangfei nodded. "That's good." 0

"Alright, the noodles are ready. It's time to eat." Hao Chunying served the noodles into a bowl. 0

Ye Fangfei also sliced the red sausage and brought it to the table. 0

"Zhi, Zijun, come over for dinner!" Ye Jianguo called from the kitchen door. 0

"Coming!" 0

"Okay, got it." 0

"This red sausage tastes pretty good. Dad and Big Brother, you should take some back with you," Tang Zhi said after taking a bite of the sausage. "And also bring back some of the dried vegetables from our hometown; they taste great when stewed. You should take some of those too." 0

"I'm not going to be polite with you; Feifei just told me you bought quite a bit of red sausage," Ye Jianguo replied. 0

"There's really no need to be polite; we're all family, so being courteous would be unnecessary." 0
