Zhou Huang had used the excuse of an academic conference to avoid her for two weeks. Just thinking about it made him feel suffocated, but he didn’t dare to confront her. She recalled how her heart raced when she saw Zhou Huang half-naked; she had even secretly searched for some pictures of him online and felt something while looking at them… Yang Wei took a big swig of her drink and cried out, “No one will ever love me! He said I make him sick; I’ll never get married…”
Zhou Huang immediately tensed up. "Don't say that! Who would dare say you're unappetizing? I really like you."
In a small inland city, the Urology clinic was packed with people, yet the doctor hadn't come out for a long time.
Inside the consultation room, a man who had spoiled his wife to the point of losing his "family status" anxiously said, "Ever since my wife had the baby, she doesn't pay any attention to me. Does that mean she doesn't love me anymore?"
The Female Doctor adjusted her glasses and replied calmly, "I don't recall Esteemed Madam ever saying she loved you."
The man looked even more worried. "It's been three months since she spent time with me."
The female doctor nodded in agreement. "She has to take care of two children and work. As a man, you should be more understanding."
The man sighed in regret. "I really shouldn't have worked so hard back then. I ended up 'creating a life,' and now, in less than three years, we have two kids... I regret it!"
"But without her, I can't sleep!"
"Moderation is important. Excessive indulgence can harm your health. Esteemed Madam's choice is not wrong."
"Doctor, excessive abstinence can also harm health."
The female doctor smiled and pulled out a list from her drawer. "So I've prepared a couple's activity schedule for you. Take a look and see what you think."
The man reluctantly glanced over, noticing that a significant portion of her time outside of work was spent with the children, while he only had a small fraction of her attention. A nagging thought crossed his mind: why did it feel like being a concubine waiting for the emperor's favor?
Zhou Huang looked at the smiling Yang Wei and helplessly asked, "Honey, are you done playing?"
"Yes, once you're finished, you can go out; there are patients waiting outside." Yang Wei called for the next person.
Zhou Huang watched from the side, feeling a twinge of discomfort. He had gone through so much to bring her to this small town, hoping for some time alone together… but it seemed all in vain! How could he have married someone who treated her work like a lover?
"Honey, I love you." Despite his frustrations, Zhou Huang found himself unable to resist falling deeper for her, his body and heart completely surrendered.
Sensing her husband's reluctance, Yang Wei took advantage of the moment when no one was watching and gently kissed him by the lips. "Darling, I'll be with you once I'm done with work."
She felt grateful for him—grateful that he loved her, cherished her, and accepted her.
