Du Hengyan was completely at a loss, his sword-like brows furrowed tightly. In the past, with his cold and decisive nature, he would have thrown this drunken woman, who was babbling nonsense and moving around recklessly in his arms, off the balcony without a second thought.
But when it came to Chi Mu Jiu, he found himself unable to be that ruthless. He couldn't bear to treat her that way.
Looking at the charmingly dazed woman in his embrace, he cursed silently to himself:
This is truly insane.
With a sigh, he spoke with a barely perceptible tenderness and compromise, “Don’t move around. I’ll help you change.”
“What are you saying? You’re so handsome, Du Hengyan!”
Chi Mu Jiu was completely lost in her own world, unable to comprehend what he was saying. All she knew was that she was flirting with an exceptionally attractive man.
Du Hengyan’s ears turned even redder, the blush creeping down his neck, standing out starkly against his cold features. He had always been a figure of respect and awe; never had he imagined he would be teased by a drunken woman.
The situation before him left him somewhat flustered.
He could only continue to patiently coax the tipsy Chi Mu Jiu. “Be good; you need to change clothes before you can sleep.”
His voice was low and gentle.
“Hmm? Why?”
Chi Mu Jiu mumbled, her hands tightly clutching his waist as if he were her only support.
The sofa beneath them was already soaked with water from their damp clothes, the stains gradually spreading outwards.
Du Hengyan sighed helplessly and gently pried her off his waist, careful not to hurt her.
Then, he lifted her towards the wardrobe, intending to fetch her some clean clothes to change into.
Surprisingly, she didn’t cause a fuss during the changing process, which took him aback.
He kept his eyes closed as he helped Chi Mu Jiu change clothes. Fortunately, it was just a nightgown, so it wasn’t too chaotic.
He hadn't changed a girl's clothes in twenty-five years.
At that moment, he stood bare-chested, a towel wrapped around his waist, the contours of his toned muscles subtly illuminated by the dim light. Yet, he had no time to care about his appearance; all his attention was focused on the beautiful girl beside him, who lay murmuring softly.
Her voice was sweet and laced with the haze of intoxication.
"Hmm?" he responded softly, his tone gentle.
"Sleep," she said.
"Alright, sweetheart."
As soon as he finished speaking, she wrapped her arms around him again, her legs encircling his waist, her small feet gently rubbing against his back.
He stiffened, his breath quickening in an instant.
"Do you know," he said, his voice low and hoarse, "that with this kind of movement, you could easily lose yourself?"
He watched the little woman whose every action seemed to stoke the fire within him. The flames in his eyes burned even more fiercely.
"I just called you over to sleep," he insisted.
It seemed she hadn’t heard him at all.
"I just crave your body," she continued to babble, her cheeks flushed like a sunset. "You were the first one I noticed."
This bold confession slipped from her lips, infused with the reckless abandon of drunkenness. If it weren't for her intoxication, he might have truly believed her words.
Though it was merely drunken rambling, it still sent ripples through his heart.
"Then let's sleep well!"
He leaned down and kissed her soft lips, unable to suppress the impulse rising within him any longer.
The kiss was passionate and wild, as if he wanted to seize every bit of her sweetness. His hands roamed freely over her body, feeling her warmth and softness. Zhi Mu Jiu could clearly sense the intense change in this man. Under his kisses and caresses, her soft whimpers only fueled the fire of desire burning within Du Heng Yan.
