"Is this car yours?"
"Rented."
Du Hengyan lied.
He still didn't want her to know his identity, at least not now, as it would bring her a lot of trouble.

Her voice was so faint it was almost inaudible, her body soft and seemingly devoid of all strength as she leaned weakly against Du Hengyan's solid chest.
Du Hengyan carefully wrapped her in his arms, his broad palm gently massaging her stomach, each motion filled with tenderness as he tried to alleviate her pain.
With his other hand, he adjusted the temperature of the air conditioning in the back seat, worried that even a slight chill might worsen her discomfort.
The strong scent of hormones emanating from Du Hengyan enveloped her entirely; the warmth radiating from his palm made Chi Mujiu feel an unprecedented sense of safety and relaxation.

Du Chengyan's gaze showed no hesitation or avoidance as he rummaged through the compartments of the suitcase and found some painkillers. Alongside the painkillers was an invitation card.

Du Chengyan didn’t linger on it; his thoughts were entirely focused on Shimu Jiu as he hurriedly closed the suitcase after grabbing the painkillers.
"Little one, get up and take your medicine."
He held a cup of warm water and offered her the medicine, his tone gentle and calm.
"Thank you."
Shimu Jiu took the medicine and water without hesitation, swallowing the pills down in one go.
She didn’t want to endure another second of this menstrual pain. Every month when her period arrived, Shimu Jiu would be tormented repeatedly. This time she had been cautious and brought the painkillers with her on the trip abroad.
After taking the medicine, she lay back down on the bed, her expression still somewhat pale.
