Chi Mu Jiu glanced at Ye Jue and nodded slightly to show her friendliness. Then she began to search for Chi Qi Yun's figure in the banquet hall.

Chi Mu Jiu walked towards her step by step.

Chi Mu Jiu smiled elegantly and replied, "I apologize, sir. My sister is being thoughtless and borrowed my identity as her elder sister to attend this banquet without my knowledge."
Her words were gentle and polite, but each one felt like a sharp blade piercing into Chi Qi Yun's heart.
The people around them suddenly realized that it was a case of deception.

Hearing these discussions, Chi Qi Yun felt utterly humiliated, her face alternating between pale and flushed, wishing she could find a hole to hide in.
At that moment, Yang Mingze also understood the truth of the situation. He awkwardly chuckled twice and then silently closed his mouth, choosing not to say another word.
Just as the surrounding voices grew louder and louder, a gentle male voice rang out.

It was Ye Jue who spoke.
"Hello, Mr. Ye."
Chi Mu Jiu slightly bowed, responding politely.
As soon as Ye Jue opened his mouth, the chatter from those behind him quieted significantly. He seemed to carry an invisible authority that compelled others to fall silent.
"May I invite Miss Chi to take a seat?"
Ye Jue smiled, his tone sincere.
Chi Mu Jiu hesitated for a moment before immediately understanding Ye Jue's intention. Inviting her to sit meant that he acknowledged her as the eldest daughter of the Chi family in front of everyone. The significance of this gesture was profound; it was a clear endorsement and recognition of her status.
"Mr. Ye, please."
Chi Mu Jiu responded gracefully, a confident smile gracing her face.
She then cast a disdainful glance at Chi Qi Yun: Your little tricks will ultimately be exposed.
A murmur of surprise rippled through the crowd.

Since Ye Jue only invited her, it seemed that this one was indeed the real deal.
Speculations and discussions erupted around them. The voices were filled with ridicule directed at Chi Qi Yun, yet no one dared to utter a word against Yang Mingze. After all, his status commanded respect and caution.
At some point, Yang Mingze had also left his seat, perhaps feeling that the atmosphere had become too awkward. Chi Qi Yun found herself in a dilemma—neither leaving nor staying felt right—as she sat there awkwardly, her face pale as paper.
