Chimu Jiu sighed softly.
"Little color cat."
Du Hengyan felt a mix of annoyance and helplessness, yet his eyes were filled with indulgence.
"Get up quickly, I turned off your phone. It's too noisy early in the morning."
As he spoke, Du Hengyan buttoned his cuff and strode out of the room.
Chimu Jiu paid no mind to his comment about the phone; she vaguely remembered it vibrating incessantly when dawn broke. She stretched lazily before slowly climbing out of bed to freshen up.
In the dining room on the first floor, she leaned against the sliding door of the open kitchen, dressed in a comfortable home shirt.
"What are we having for breakfast?"
Her pure white shirt was paired perfectly with denim shorts that hugged her curvy backside, accentuating her flawless waist-to-hip ratio. Below the shorts were long, fair, and straight legs, their smooth lines elegant and skin as delicate as fine jade.
"Egg fried rice."
While busy preparing, Du Hengyan couldn't help but glance at her, a fleeting look of astonishment crossing his face. After his gaze lingered on her for a moment, he turned off the stove and plated the breakfast before bringing it to the table.
Having someone to take care of you is truly comfortable.
Chimu Jiu cheerfully sat down and began to feast heartily.
"Your cooking is so good!" she exclaimed between bites. "I've never had such delicious food in my life!"
She ate with great enthusiasm, her cheeks puffed up like a cute little squirrel.
"Don't choke; have some milk," Du Hengyan said, though he felt her words were somewhat exaggerated, they still brought a smile to his face.
"We need to replace some spices in the kitchen. After breakfast, I'll head out for a bit."
"Hey! Wait, no, no, no, you should just stay at home."
As soon as Chi Mu Jiu heard that he was going out, she immediately spoke up to stop him, her expression slightly flustered.
Seeing her react so strongly, Du Heng Yan narrowed his eyes and scrutinized her. "What? Can't I go out?"
"No, it's not that..." Chi Mu Jiu's gaze flickered, revealing her unease.
"Then what is it?" Du Heng Yan pressed on, demanding a clear answer.
Chi Mu Jiu found herself momentarily speechless, unsure of how to respond. "It's just... it's not safe for a big man like you to go out."
Du Heng Yan's brows furrowed even tighter. "What do you mean it's not safe for a big man like me to go out? With my build, no one would dare come near me on the street."
"Well... I know this place better than you do. It would be more convenient for me to go out. Besides, errands like shopping are something I can handle," Chi Mu Jiu said as she set down her chopsticks. To persuade Du Heng Yan to agree, she leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
Du Heng Yan was left speechless, feeling a bit greasy on his face from the kiss. He thought to himself that it was quite something for this little one to kiss him without wiping her mouth first.
"Fine then."
In the end, Du Heng Yan relented. After hearing his agreement, Chi Mu Jiu finally let out a slow breath of relief.
A couple of days ago, the two of them went out and unexpectedly ran into Chi Ciyun, which left her feeling unsettled. How could she dare to let Du Chengyan go out alone? Although they were in the suburbs where people were relatively sparse, she couldn't guarantee that no one would follow them.
To keep things under wraps for another day, she decided to minimize Du Chengyan's outings. However, there was something thrilling about living in secrecy! It felt as if she was experiencing the excitement of an affair.
But how could Du Chengyan not be aware of her little thoughts? She didn't want to go out because she was simply afraid of being seen. His identity here at Chi Mu Jiu was merely that of a man seeking a sugar mama. Yet, Du Chengyan found himself increasingly addicted to this nameless and taboo game.
