In a tranquil suburb, a luxurious villa stood majestically.
Chimu Jiu lay lazily on the spacious sofa in the living room, fully engrossed in her game, completely immersed in the virtual world, her expression focused and excited.
Beside her, Du Hengyan sat quietly, his posture upright, yet his gaze remained fixed on Chimu Jiu as she tirelessly played mobile games for an entire morning.
Time passed unnoticed until the low battery warning flashed on her phone screen. Reluctantly, Chimu Jiu ended the game and logged off.
The screen of her phone reflected like a mirror, clearly showing Du Hengyan's handsome and cool face behind her. His deep-set eyes, as profound as a tranquil pool, gazed at her tenderly.
"I'm hungry," Chimu Jiu said, shifting slightly and playfully resting her head on Du Hengyan's lap.
"The meal is ready, but if you don’t go out to buy the seasoning, we’ll have to eat something bland," he replied gently, brushing aside the hair that fell over her forehead. His lips curled into a slight smile, his tone tinged with a hint of helplessness and indulgence.
It suddenly dawned on Chimu Jiu that she had insisted earlier in the morning that Du Hengyan stay in while she promised to buy the seasoning herself. But now, with mealtime approaching and lost in her game, she had completely forgotten about it.
"Okay, I’ll go right now!" she exclaimed eagerly, trying to get up quickly. However, in her haste, her hand accidentally brushed against him.
The air seemed to freeze for a moment as both of them froze in place.
Du Hengyan’s ears turned crimson instantly; the blush spread like flames across his cheeks.
Chimu Jiu’s face also flushed bright red, her eyes filled with embarrassment and confusion.
For a moment, silence enveloped them, the atmosphere becoming subtly ambiguous.
"Still not enough?" Du Hengyan's voice was hoarse as he swallowed hard, laced with suppressed desire.
Having her head resting on his lap was already tantalizing enough; the soft strands of hair brushing against his skin sent shivers through him.
Now that she had made direct contact, did she really think he could remain composed? With such close proximity every day, he wondered how much longer he could hold back.
"Ah? Ah! Okay!" Chimu Jiu finally snapped back to reality, realizing that her hand was still resting on Du Hengyan's thigh.
The ambiguous touch left her momentarily blank-headed.
She hurriedly got up, like a startled bird, distancing herself from Du Hengyan.
Du Hengyan pressed his thin lips together, the lines of his face taut. Chi Mu Jiu could clearly hear his heavy and rapid breathing.
Her gaze uncontrollably drifted downwards, noticing a distinct change in his trousers.
The sensation from just moments ago was truly indescribable.
What a bold girl she was!
Chi Mu Jiu muttered softly to herself, still savoring that heart-fluttering moment.
She wondered if Du Hengyan had heard her self-deprecating remark; at this point, she couldn’t care less.
However, to be fair, it was quite adorable to see a typically stoic handsome man blush.
(If you start to think that a man can be described as cute, then sister, you are in deep trouble!)
His usually cold features were tinged with a rosy hue, like an iceberg melting away, revealing a captivating charm.
I didn’t mean to; just calm down first while I go buy some seasoning!
Before Du Hengyan could say anything, Chi Mu Jiu hurriedly grabbed her phone and rushed out the door.
Du Hengyan sat on the sofa, trying to calm his restless emotions.
What a rogue she was—only good at igniting flames but not extinguishing them.
He rubbed his temples in frustration and only got up to head towards the kitchen once he felt completely composed.
