"You're back?"
Chi Mu Jiu sat up in bed, her eyes still heavy with sleep as she reached out, yearning for a warm embrace.
She extended her arms, longing for the comfort of a hug.
Du Heng Yan frowned slightly, unmoved by her gesture. Though his heart was filled with tenderness, he didn't want the scent of the hospital to linger on her.
"Yes, I just got back from the hospital. I'm going to take a shower and change my clothes. Just wait for me patiently."
As he spoke, Chi Mu Jiu heard the sound of water from the shower, its clear droplets echoing in the quiet room.
A flicker of warmth surged within her, but before she could fully savor it, she noticed that the bathroom door was ajar.
It seemed this was a habitual offender.
In just a few moments, Du Heng Yan emerged from the bathroom. His hair was damp, water droplets cascading down his cheeks, adding to his allure. Seeing the beauty on the bed turned away from him, he couldn't help but tease, "What’s this? Just a moment ago you wanted a hug, and now you’re ignoring me while I’m fresh out of the bath?"
Chi Mu Jiu was about to call him narcissistic when she remembered that it had been her who had sneakily watched him before.
"If you’re awake, you should get up and have some breakfast. Everything is ready."
Du Heng Yan shifted his tone, concern evident in his voice. He leaned closer to her, his familiar scent enveloping her.
Though she felt a bit annoyed, she didn’t resist his closeness.
"When are we leaving?" Chi Mu Jiu asked softly.
"We can leave after you finish breakfast, Madam." Du Heng Yan's response was succinct.
Late in the evening, Shi Mu Jiu nodded.
In the next moment, Du Heng Yan pressed a kiss on her lips and lifted her horizontally from the bed.
"Is this waking method satisfactory for you, my lady?" he asked, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth, his eyes filled with anticipation.
"Not satisfactory," Shi Mu Jiu pouted, looking quite adorable.
"Why not?" he pressed.
"Because you didn't close the door while taking a shower."
"I left it open for ventilation, to make it convenient for my lady to come in anytime," Du Heng Yan replied with a mischievous grin.
"You..." Shi Mu Jiu felt both shy and annoyed.
"I have to give my lady some opportunities for movement, don't I?" Du Heng Yan continued to tease.
"Du Heng Yan, you are becoming more and more shameless!"
Noticing that Du Heng Yan was staring at her, Shi Mu Jiu's face turned red.
"Feeling shy in front of your own wife? If this gets out, won't my brothers laugh for three days and nights?" Du Heng Yan said with a straight face.
"And she’s still your wife!"
"If you don’t marry me, I wouldn’t mind bringing my brothers along with me."
Shi Mu Jiu was left speechless.
"Isn't this a bit too much? If we bring these people back, are we really sure they won't be seen as terrorists?"

(Du Hang pressed a gun against Chi Feng's forehead, saying, "I'm coming to your house; what do you think about that?")
