Faced with Chi Mu Jiu's taunts, Corey’s face turned pale with anger, yet he still managed to suppress his fury and replied, "It's just a mere hundred million! This amount of money is nothing to me! You’ve only won twice by sheer luck. As the saying goes, 'A gambler never wins the first hand, and things don't go well after three tries.' There are still two more rounds to go!"
Chi Mu Jiu hadn’t expected this foreigner’s command of Chinese to be lacking, yet he could recite proverbs so easily. She raised an eyebrow and looked at him with a half-smile. "Since you’re so confident, Mr. Corey, let’s make this interesting! If you lose again this round, I imagine your misfortune will become quite the joke around the gambling house."
Upon hearing this, Corey was instantly furious, his eyes widening as he shouted, "You! How dare you speak to me like that?"
However, Chi Mu Jiu showed no signs of backing down; instead, she coldly replied, "At the gambling table, the victor is king while the loser is a bandit. Mr. Corey, I’m here to play cards, not to argue with you."
With that, she took her seat again, preparing for the next round of competition.
"Alright! Well said! Since we’re playing cards, let’s follow the rules of the gambling house!"
Corey stood up again, his voice booming throughout the casino.
This was exactly what Chi Mu Jiu had been waiting for.
"Let’s bet! Are you brave enough to match me?"
Now came the true moment of the hunt.
With her masked beauty fixated on Corey before her, she declared confidently, "I’m in! Let’s bet!"
