"How could a place like the police station, which updates information daily, not know?"
"Excuse me, officers, when can I—"
As she spoke, Chi Mu Jiu wrinkled her nose slightly. She had dozed off for a while and felt a bit chilly.
"Please be patient a little longer, Miss Chi. The investigation results are on their way," Lu Jin Zhi replied, keeping her head slightly bowed as she continued to review past cases.
Chi Mu Jiu nodded in response.
"Officer, doesn’t this police station have air conditioning or heating?" she asked. The rain outside was getting heavier, and the temperature in the interrogation room seemed to drop even further.
Lu Jin Zhi had just heard her mumbling about feeling cold. She had initially thought about offering her jacket but decided against it when she heard the footsteps of a junior officer approaching. It felt like too much trouble.
"Miss Chi, this is an interrogation room—a place for questioning suspects."
"But I'm not a suspect," Chi Mu Jiu interjected immediately as soon as he finished speaking.
Lu Jin Zhi seemed to gain a new perspective on this woman; her words were sharp and incisive.
After hesitating for a few seconds, he turned to retrieve his jacket from the chair.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
A female officer entered, holding two reports in her hands.
"Team Leader Lu, here are the reports just sent over by the testing department."
Lu Jin Zhi took the reports and glanced at them to confirm their accuracy.
"Thank you for your cooperation, Miss Chi. You may proceed now."
Hearing Lu Jinzhi's words, Chi Mu Jiu let out a long sigh.
Finally, it was over; this place was truly cold.
After adjusting her skirt slightly, she stood up.
Lu Jinzhi returned her confiscated phone to her.
"Miss Chi, please."
Chi Mu Jiu nodded slightly, took the phone, and strode out of the interrogation room.
Lu Jinzhi and several officers even accompanied her to the entrance of the police station.
Outside, seven or eight cars were parked in the rainy night, each with its headlights on.
Ning Chen saw his wife come out and immediately got out of the car with Jin Su to greet her.

Jin Su handed a small blanket to Chi Mu Jiu.

"Thank you for your hospitality," she continued, her gaze falling on Lu Jinzhi's hand but not reaching out to shake it.
At that moment, both of her hands were tightly covered by the blanket, making it impossible to move.
"Officer Lu, thank you for your trouble," Ning Chen said politely to Lu Jinzhi from the side.
Then he naturally took Lu Jinzhi's extended hand and shook it firmly as a gesture of thanks.
"Boss Ning, look at me! Am I handsome? This love security guard position is truly deserving of a raise! I must get a raise!"
Chi Mu Jiu didn’t linger for long; Jin Su held the umbrella for her as she got into the car. One by one, the vehicles left the police station.
Lu Jin Zhi seemed to understand Chi Mu Jiu's words of gratitude. When she had wanted to drape a coat over her, Chi Mu Jiu was awake. After all, who would truly sleep so defenselessly in an unfamiliar environment?
