Le Xinyuan, a formidable presence in the military, rarely found herself at a disadvantage during confrontations. She was like a thorny rose—beautiful yet dangerous. No matter the enemy she faced, she remained calm and composed, skillfully navigating each encounter. Her sharp skills and keen intellect instilled fear in many of her opponents.
Now, in the slightly cramped confines of a car, Ye Qi had her firmly restrained with just one hand. That hand felt as if it possessed endless strength, binding her like an unbreakable chain, rendering her immobile.
Le Xinyuan attempted to use her legs to break free from this sudden constraint, but before she could make a move, Ye Qi seemed to anticipate her thoughts. In an instant, he crossed over from the driver’s seat.
He then positioned his knees against her retreat, trapping her in an even tighter space.
"Ye Qi! What do you think you're doing?" Le Xinyuan exclaimed, her eyes wide with a flicker of panic that was quickly replaced by stubbornness. Her cheeks flushed slightly, though whether from anger or the ambiguous position they found themselves in was unclear.
"Did I hurt you?" Ye Qi's voice was deep and magnetic, laced with genuine concern. The softness of his tone contrasted sharply with his current dominating demeanor.
"No, it's just your strength," Le Xinyuan retorted defiantly.
She refused to appear weak in front of Ye Qi, even though her wrist throbbed slightly from his grip; she wouldn’t easily admit to any discomfort.
Ye Qi knew her well—like a book he had read countless times. He could discern the truth behind every glance and every word from Le Xinyuan.
Seeing her stubborn expression made his lips curl into a slight smile. He loosened his grip just enough for her to feel the pressure ease, yet she still did not resist.
At that moment, the atmosphere in the car grew increasingly charged; they were almost sitting on top of each other.
Ye Qi's warm breath brushed against Le Xinyuan's face like a gentle feather, igniting an indescribable tension between them. This sensation sparked a primal desire within both of them, swelling and fermenting in the confined space.
"Tell me about what you discussed at the social before I arrived," Ye Qi leaned closer, whispering softly into her ear. His breath sent shivers down her spine as if electricity coursed through her body.
Le Xinyuan felt her heart race uncontrollably; she was nearly overwhelmed with embarrassment.
"Who is your moonlight? Xin Xin, hmm?" Ye Qi murmured tenderly as he caressed the back of her ear with infinite affection.
His warm breath and the hormones radiating from him enveloped Le Xinyuan like an invisible net, leaving her mind in a state of disarray. All she could comprehend was that she had fallen for him at first sight; now he was so intimately close, speaking ambiguous words while teasingly touching her. The entire situation left her feeling utterly flustered and exposed.
Le Xinyuan felt as if she were about to explode from embarrassment; her face burned as if it were on fire.
Ye Qi seemed to have found her sensitive spot, pressing his face close to the back of her neck. The warm sensation made Le Xinyuan shiver all over.
"Why isn’t Xinxin answering all my questions?" Ye Qi's voice carried a hint of seduction.
"Stop it, Ye Qi, don’t tease me."
She tried to twist her body to escape the tingling sensation that made her blush and her heart race, her voice soft and sweet like a whispering mosquito, filled with shyness.
"I liked you the first time I saw you."
"Can you please stop? It really tickles."
Le Xinyuan felt completely overwhelmed, her words softening as she spoke. Her playful defiance only made Ye Qi's heart race even more.
Hearing Le Xinyuan refer to herself, Ye Qi's smile widened. He clearly remembered their first meeting; she had been full of youthful energy with her high ponytail, bursting into the commander's office while holding up her admission notice. That scene was etched in his mind like a beautiful painting.
Le Xinyuan was two years younger than him; at that time, he had already graduated from military school and was preparing to join the army. It was during that chance encounter that Le Xinyuan, like a lively little deer, had intruded into his orderly life, leaving an indelible mark on his heart.
What he hadn’t expected was that after that fleeting glance, this girl seemed enchanted, training relentlessly, participating in drills and missions with all her might. Her resilience and dedication made him feel both pained and admiring.
