Meeting is fate, longing is a matter.
Su Pavilion had always thought that she was the one who had torn apart Lou Ye Zong and Fu Ning.
But after much contemplation, she realized that it was Lou Ye Yang and Fu Ning who had let her down.

She still remembered the chilly March in Kingdom Chen. By the Wanlou Bridge, pear blossoms fell like snow. He was dressed in military attire, his handsome figure tall and striking as he paced back and forth, appearing somewhat restless, his tightly furrowed brows adding to his sense of loneliness. Su Ying smiled at the maid behind her, signaling her to stay back, then lifted her skirt and gracefully approached him.
“Is it that this princess has made you so anxious?” Su Ying suppressed her laughter, deliberately softening her footsteps as she circled around Lou Ye Yang, whispering softly.
Lou Ye Yang did not turn around, but she could clearly see that at the moment her words fell, his body stiffened slightly. Before Su Ying could react, Lou Ye Yang suddenly turned around and pulled her into his embrace.
“What if I don’t return from this battle?” His clear voice carried a hint of helplessness as it reached her ears. Su Ying froze for a moment; the invincible general, the man with unmatched looks and a steady mind—was he afraid? Afraid that he might not return and that they would never meet again in this lifetime?
“I believe in you. I believe you will triumph, and I believe you will return safely to marry me.” Su Ying smiled, her beautiful face radiating happiness.
As long as Ye Yang returned victorious from defeating Wu Kingdom, her father would agree to their marriage.
“Alright, I will come back, come back to marry you.” This was the last thing Lou Ye Yang said to Su Ying before he set off for battle—a promise that he would return to marry her.
Now, amidst the vibrant red decorations and the golden glow of the hall, Su Ying wore a magnificent red wedding gown adorned with large blooming hibiscus flowers, luxurious and enchanting. The red veil hanging over her head obscured her vision; she placed her hand over her heart, where an uncontrollable flutter remained. She was finally going to marry him—Lou Ye Yang.
“Creak…” The wooden door made a soft sound as footsteps approached slowly. Su Ying felt her heart pounding like a drum, her delicate hands gripping tightly onto her wedding robe as she awaited the moment when the veil would be lifted.
"Are you feeling quite proud of yourself?"
Her smile froze at the corners of her mouth.
That cold, thin voice pierced Su Ying's ears, causing her heart to sink heavily.
"Since you have successfully become the main wife, I will bring A Ning into the residence tomorrow." Lou Ye Yang looked at the woman sitting on the edge of the bed, his face expressionless as he spoke, his words filled with a chilling indifference.
"Is this what you wanted to say to me on our wedding night?" Su Ying forced back the tears that threatened to spill over, suppressing the lump in her throat as she asked softly.
"I originally had nothing to say to you." His words were so cold they seemed devoid of any emotion. After saying this, Lou Ye Yang turned and left without hesitation.
He didn't even lift her veil or drink the wedding wine; he simply cast these few heart-wrenching words at her before resolutely walking away. Su Ying felt as if something within her had shattered violently, leaving her gasping for breath from the pain.
"Princess, are you alright?" The maid Cai Zhu slowly pushed the door open, her face filled with concern as she looked at Su Ying, who remained motionless on the edge of the bed.
"He must hate me, hate me for tearing him away from Fu Ning," Su Ying murmured to herself, suddenly yanking off her veil, revealing a beautiful face already streaked with tears.
Before he went off to war, he had clearly made a promise to her; yet one fall from a cliff had wiped his memory of her completely clean.
She had traversed mountains and valleys in search of him, unable to believe that he could simply cease to exist. But he returned safely, accompanied by a delicate woman named Fu Ning.
She still vividly remembered Ye Yang's face brimming with happiness as he said to her, "Ning'er is my savior; I will marry her."
"You clearly promised to marry me when you returned from the expedition. This is the Emperor's decree, and it is also my command," Su Ying couldn't help but shout loudly at his retreating figure.
Yet, he remained indifferent, snorting lightly before turning to leave, completely ignoring Su Ying's heart-wrenching sobs behind him. He no longer gently stroked her head or affectionately called her "fool" as he used to.
The next day
A grand red sedan chair was steadily carried through the gates of the General's residence, drawing curious glances and whispers from the onlookers in the street.
"Hey, didn't he just marry the princess yesterday? Why is he welcoming a Concubine today?"
"This Concubine can actually enter through the main gate; it seems the General holds her in high regard!"
Su Ying closed her eyes, trying hard to shake off these words from her mind. But the more she tried not to listen, the more they gnawed at her heart, leaving a bitter ache within.
"The General is being too much; it's clear he doesn't regard the princess at all. How can a Concubine enter through the main gate with such fanfare?" Cai Zhu said indignantly from the side.
Su Ying sighed softly and looked up, only to see Ye Yang dressed in a bright red wedding robe, his unparalleled handsome face radiating happiness.
He gently bent down and lifted Fu Ning into his arms, walking slowly towards Drunken Moon Pavilion amidst the congratulations of the servants.
A faint bitter smile appeared on Su Ying's lips as she turned away, feeling warmth trickle down from the corners of her eyes, scalding her skin.
