The next day, the Emperor issued an urgent decree, commanding Lou Ye Yang to head to Yang City to resist the foreign enemy. Su Ying personally took the imperial edict to the General's residence, her tone icy. 0

"I accept the decree," Lou Ye Yang said as he stood up, clearly hearing her cold snort as he took the edict from her hand. In truth, Yang City had long since fallen, and the Kingdom Chen no longer interfered with that territory. 0

Now, however, Lou Ye Yang was being sent deep into enemy territory to reclaim Yang City. It seemed that the Emperor was entrusting him with an important mission, but in reality, it was a one-way trip leading to his demise in Yang City. 0

"I told you, that night when you didn't kill me, you would never have another chance," Su Ying said, looking at Lou Ye Yang with a smile that was neither here nor there. 0

"I misunderstood you; I know everything now. Su Ying, I'm sorry." Lou Ye Yang forced a dry smile as he spoke these words, bitterness filling his throat. 0

"Do you think saying that now is meaningful? A mistake is a mistake. This journey to Yang City is my personal request to Father Emperor; it's fraught with danger. Take care of yourself." Su Ying turned away from him, her voice cold as she feared her heart might soften. She did not wish to linger here and had not even seen him off before his departure. Just like on their wedding night, when he had not lifted her veil or shared a cup of wine with her but had instead left after uttering words that shattered her heart. 0

Days passed since Ye Yang set out for Yang City. One morning, Cai Zhu rushed into the chamber, breathless. Before Su Ying could ask anything, she frantically shouted, "News from Yang City! It has fallen again. General Lou is trapped in the sand dunes... there’s been no word." 0

Though Su Ying tried to suppress her trembling heart, upon hearing this news, it felt as if something had struck her fiercely in the chest, leaving her too pained to even speak. 0

"I told you, I don't want to know anything about him. Whether he lives or dies has nothing to do with me," Su Ying said defiantly as she pulled the covers tightly over her head, her voice cold. 0

Late at night, a fine horse and a graceful figure appeared at the city gate. Su Ying took out a gold medal adorned with a dragon pattern and spoke to the guards at the gate before safely exiting the city. She truly could not let go of him. 0

Yang City, Tongguan Valley. The endless stretch of yellow sand obscured her vision. 0

The ground was littered with corpses buried beneath thick layers of sand. 0

Su Ying knelt there desperately digging through one sand dune after another; her once delicate fingers were now bloodied and mangled, bright red blood staining them beyond recognition. 0

She had ridden hard for days; her heart felt hollow within her chest. 0

"Ye Yang, are you still alive?" 0

It's been so long; can you still hold on? 0

After searching through countless hills and finding nothing but hundreds of corpses, she finally broke down in a fit of despair. 0

"Lou Ye Yang, if you dare to die, I will mutilate your body a thousand times and hang your head on the city tower to be exposed to the sun!" Su Ying's voice was filled with sorrow and heavy sobs, yet she reassured herself that Lou Ye Yang was resilient; how could a mere ten miles of yellow sand possibly trap him? 0

Perhaps heaven showed mercy. Just as Su Ying was about to exhaust all her strength, she cleared the last sand dune and saw Lou Ye Yang, bloodied and battered, before her eyes. 0

"Ye Yang! Lou Ye Yang!" Su Ying desperately called his name, but he remained motionless. 0

With great caution, Su Ying pressed her hand against his neck and felt a faint pulse beating weakly. 0

"You hold on; I’ll carry you back to treat your wounds." With all her might, Su Ying hoisted Lou Ye Yang onto her back. 0

By the time they reached the clinic, she had nearly exhausted all her strength and fell into a coma for three days. 0

A warm sensation touched her forehead, and Su Ying felt an unbearable dryness in her throat. With great difficulty, she managed to utter a single word: "Water..." 0

Then she felt herself being embraced in a broad and warm hold, as moist liquid slowly trickled down her cracked lips. 0

As she gradually opened her eyes, everything around her shifted from a blur to clarity. Lou Ye Yang's handsome face came into view, smiling gently at her. 0

"You silly girl, you’re finally awake." Lou Ye Yang reached out to tuck a few strands of hair behind her ear, speaking with tenderness and affection. 0

"You... you remember? You remember me!" Su Ying looked at him in shock, her voice trembling. 0

He called her a fool. 0

Just as he always had, he cherished her. 0

"I seem to have had a long dream, where I recklessly hurt you. And then... you came to save me without hesitation." Lou Ye Yang nodded, a charming smile gracing his lips as his warm palm gently caressed her tear-streaked cheek. 0

"Just remember me. As long as you remember that there is a woman named Su Ying who loves you." Su Ying grasped his hand tightly against her cheek, crying unabashedly. 0

He chuckled softly, lowering his head to kiss her forehead, reaching out to wipe away the coldness from her face. 0

"Ying'er, be good. Don't cry." 0

In the Kingdom Chen, July brought forth the pure white lotus. The current princess, Su Ying, donned a phoenix crown and colorful robes, making a grand entrance into the general's residence in a lavish sedan chair. Lou Ye Yang, dressed in a red wedding robe, personally carried her out of the chair. 0

"I am the Second Lady of the general's residence! Let me in!" A disheveled woman frantically tried to rush into the estate. 0

But she was swiftly pushed to the ground by a servant, who tossed a silver ingot in front of her. 0

"Today our general celebrates his Noble Lady. This is for you; take it and leave quickly. You're bringing bad luck." 0

The woman merely stared blankly before picking up the silver at her feet and scampering away cheerfully. 0
