Nina provocatively asked, "Isn't habit a terrifying thing?"
Rao Jie froze for a moment, as if something hidden deep within was dragged out and exposed to the scorching sun.
Seeing Rao Jie's unpleasant expression, Nina smiled triumphantly and said, "Tell me, what is it about you that he finds appealing? I really can't understand why he would be interested in you, especially since Wu Rong actually dislikes people like you."
"People like you... who are irresponsible with their own lives."
Rao Jie's face gradually turned pale.

What right do you have to be with Wu Rong when your life is so wasted? Don’t you feel inferior? Or do you see being a mindless caretaker who satisfies physical needs as your ultimate goal?"
"You should just stick with other mediocre people. Ordinary people belong with ordinary people. I’m only looking out for your best interests. Unless you plan to keep Wu Rong trapped in this little place forever, when he spreads his wings and soars, you'll realize that you can never fit into his world. You will always be an outsider. If you have any self-respect, the choices you're making now will hurt you deeply."
"Although I admit my words can be harsh, you have to acknowledge that what I'm saying is true!"
After Nina finished speaking, she looked at Rao Jie with amusement.
Rao Jie was left feeling utterly disoriented.
Just then, the door opened quietly.
Wu Rong stepped out, frowning as he asked, "Were you two just talking about something? I thought I heard voices."
Nina turned around with a smile and said, "Oh, it’s nothing. I was just curious about what Rao Jie wants to do in the future, so we were discussing it casually. After all, it surprised me when you mentioned she wanted to work at a bank. Is she really looking forward to that? But she still has two more years of school; her thoughts might change by then."
Wu Rong looked at Nina suspiciously and then turned to Rao Jie. Noticing her poor complexion, he stepped forward with concern and asked, "What’s wrong? You look unwell."
Rao Jie gritted her teeth but didn’t complain; she forced a smile and said, "Nothing, just tired. By the way, it’s time to eat."
Wu Rong nodded and replied, "Okay. Make sure to rest early later."
Nina asked, "Wu Rong, did you resolve the issue we discussed earlier? Are we eating now?"
Wu Rong shook his head and said, "I still don’t understand where the problem lies; we can continue later."
"Is it possible that our algorithm is incorrect?" Nina naturally began discussing this with Wu Rong as they walked toward the dining table.
It wasn’t until Wu Rong sat down that he realized Rao Jie hadn’t followed them. He turned back and saw her staring blankly at him.
Wu Rong frowned slightly and called out, "Come over!"
Rao Jie snapped back to reality and quickly walked over.
Throughout the entire meal, Wu Rong and Nina were engrossed in discussing their research topics. Even if Nina said it was a world she could never truly belong to, it didn't change the reality. After struggling to finish dinner, Rao Jie decided to rest. Meanwhile, the person next door continued working late into the night.
When Nina finally left, Rao Jie glanced at the clock—it was two in the morning. Not long after, her door was opened. Rao Jie hesitated for a moment but ultimately pretended to be asleep.
