After stepping out of the store, I lowered my head, my shoulders trembling slightly, looking pitiful. Tears welled up in my eyes. "Qishen, Auntie is really angry about all this spending, isn't she?" 0

I stole a glance and saw Mother Xi catching this scene, her expression darkening instantly. 0

She strode over to us, her tone icy. "Yanyan, you've bought far too much today." 0

Seeing this, Xi Qishen quickly moved to my side, shielding me behind him. "Mom, Yanyan likes these things; what's wrong with buying them for her?" 0

"Likes? I think she just likes your money!" Mother Xi sneered. "You..." She finally couldn't hold back, her voice trembling slightly. "Do you even know that money isn't meant to be spent like this?" 0

"Auntie, I know I was wrong, but I just love beautiful things," I sniffled, my voice choked with emotion as large tears streamed down my face. 0

Mother Xi shook her head and turned to leave. 0

In the following days, I transformed into a "shopaholic," buying all sorts of designer bags, clothes, shoes, and cosmetics—almost wanting to bring the entire mall home with me. 0

Sure enough, it wasn't long before Mother Xi stormed over again. Her face was ashen, her gaze sharp as if she wanted to devour me whole. 0

"Yanyan, you're wasting money again!" Mother Xi scolded harshly. 0

Seeing this scene, Xi Qishen rushed to my side once more, protecting me. "Mom, don't say that about Yanyan; she just likes these things." 0

"Likes? Do you have any idea how much all of this costs? Do you know how much she spent in just one afternoon?" Mother Xi's voice became piercing as she pointed at the large bag I was holding, her expression darkening further. 0

"Don't worry about her; it's my money and I'll spend it however I want," Xi Qishen replied impatiently, clearly displeased with his mother's reaction. 0

I sighed softly, lowering my head again as my shoulders trembled slightly. "No, Auntie is just concerned about me..." I choked on my words, unable to speak further as tears swirled in my eyes. 0

Other customers and staff in the store turned their heads to watch us, whispering among themselves. 0

The light from the crystal chandelier fell down upon us, making the tense atmosphere even more dramatic. 0

I immediately lowered my head and said nothing. Inside, I sneered; the bait had been taken. 0

I raised my head, my eyes slightly red as I choked out, "Auntie, I know you don't like me, but I really love Qishen. I'm willing to change for him. I promise I won't waste money anymore..." 0

Seeing this, Xi Qishen gently pulled me into his arms, saying, "Yanyan, don't worry. I'll handle it." 0

Mother Xi walked up to us and snorted coldly, "Xi Qishen, just look at her. You can tell she's just spending your money! She has no sense of frugality at all!" 0

I lifted my head and glanced at Mother Xi, noticing her expression had grown even darker. 0

"Worried? She's worried about not having money to spend!" Mother Xi scoffed. "Just a gold digger!" 0

At those words, I could no longer hold back and burst into tears. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I covered my face with my hands, my shoulders trembling in a pitiful manner. "I know... but I just really like it..." 0

Xi Qishen's heart softened as he sighed, "Alright, if you like it, then buy it." 0

My eyes brightened, looking as if I were about to cry again. "Qishen," I choked out, "Auntie doesn't seem to like me..." 0

I secretly raised my eyes to observe Mother Xi's reaction. 0

Sure enough, Xi Qishen held me tightly in his arms and gently patted my back. "Don't think too much. My mom just isn't used to expressing her feelings," he said sweetly. I noticed Mother Xi standing not far away and deliberately raised my voice, making my tone even more sugary. 0

Xi Qishen held me close, stroking my hair tenderly. 0

Mother Xi watched us with a slightly softened expression, but her tone remained stern. "I hope you mean what you say." 0

Leaning against Xi Qishen's chest, I discreetly wiped away the tears at the corners of my eyes and allowed a smirk of triumph to appear on my lips. 0

"System, what's Mother Xi's favorability rating now?" I silently asked in my mind. 0

"The target character Mother Xi's favorability towards the host: -30%," the system's mechanical voice chimed in. 0

I quickly suppressed my tears again without showing any signs. 0

I nodded vigorously. "Auntie, please don't be angry. I'm serious about everything I said. I will work hard in the future and create wealth with my own hands instead of relying on Qishen." 0

I took out my phone and opened the backend of my online store to show her my sales data. 0

Mother Xi scrolled through the screen, her gaze gradually shifting from skepticism to astonishment, filled with disbelief. She had initially thought I was just a vain little girl but was surprised to discover that I possessed such remarkable business acumen. 0

I continued, "My monthly income is enough to buy limited editions. These brands have collectible value. I'm planning to resell them later for a profit." 0

I took out my phone and opened a few auction websites, showing them to Mother Xi. "Look, these similar items." 0

"Did you design these?" She looked up, her tone laced with disbelief. 0

I nodded, a faint smile playing on my lips. "Yes, Auntie. Designing is both my hobby and my career." I observed Mother Xi's expression as she took my phone and examined it closely, her surprise growing. 0

Curious glances from surrounding customers and staff fell upon us, and I felt a surge of pride. The first step had been taken; it seemed the effect was quite good. 0

Xi Qishen leaned over to take a look as well, a flicker of surprise in his eyes. "Yanyan, you’re amazing!" He wrapped an arm around my shoulders, his voice tinged with pride. 0

I leaned into Xi Qishen's embrace. 0

Seizing the moment, I continued, "Auntie, I know you care about Qishen and worry that I might spend recklessly. But I assure you, every penny I spend is well thought out; I would never waste Qishen's money." 0

I gently held Mother Xi's hand and playfully said, "It's all thanks to Qishen's encouragement and support that I've been able to persevere." 0

I looked up at Mother Xi with a sweet smile, my eyes sparkling with a hint of flattery. 0

Seeing the scene before her, Mother Xi's expression softened considerably. She sighed lightly and said, "Yanyan, I had some misunderstandings about you in the past; I hope you won't hold it against me." 0

"Auntie, you’re too kind," I quickly replied, a sly glimmer flashing in my eyes. The fish had taken the bait! 0
