Years later, I saw Chen Zhaonian again.
He was mingling among a group of portly men, yet he still stood out. Without even trying to search for him, my gaze collided with his. However, I no longer felt the same urgency to meet his eyes as I once did. I merely glanced at him before shifting my attention away, smiling as I chatted with a classmate beside me.
My female classmate called my name a few times before I snapped back to reality. She lowered her voice and said, " Huiyan, you and Chen Zhaonian..."
Following her gaze, I found myself locking eyes with Chen Zhaonian once more. I smirked slightly, adopting a half-smile expression.
My classmate sighed, "I heard he's doing really well now, but he's already married."
"Is that so?" I chuckled softly.
I lifted my bottle of wine, intentionally turning to meet his gaze again. His expression darkened slightly.
I casually averted my eyes.
The classmates began to tease, "Cheng Huiyan, why don’t you clink glasses with President Chen?"
"Yeah, you two used to be the perfect couple in our school."
I discreetly observed Chen Zhaonian's reaction. He leaned back in his chair, looking relaxed as if he were watching an interesting play unfold.
I raised my glass and approached him. "President Chen, let me toast you."
He chuckled lightly, "Aren't you the one who can't drink?"
I looked at him with a dreamy expression, my tone playful as I replied, "If President Chen wants to toast me, how could I possibly refuse?"
We clinked glasses and downed our drinks in one go.
"Impressive drinking skills!"
Amid the raucous cheers, I set my cup down and said, "I'm going to the restroom."
I walked slowly in my high heels, the sharp clicks echoing against the floor. Suddenly, I stumbled as if I had twisted my ankle.
Chen Zhaonian quickly caught me.
I looked up at him, my gaze hazy.
He frowned and asked, "Cheng Huiyan, why are you drinking so much?"
I tiptoed closer to his ear and whispered in a tone only we could hear, "Aren't you the one who wanted me to drink?"
"What's wrong? Can't handle it?"
His expression changed abruptly as he gripped my arm tightly. "Cheng Huiyan, are you provoking me?"
I blinked innocently. "President Chen, you're hurting me."
I pushed him away forcefully and walked toward the restroom on my own.
Moments later, I heard footsteps approaching.
In the mirror, I caught a glimpse of Chen Zhaonian's darkened expression.
Before I could react, he yanked my arm and pulled me into a stall.
"Bang—"
With a loud crash, he pressed me firmly against the tiled wall.
Chen Zhaonian leaned down toward me, his lips grinding against mine.
I didn’t resist; instead, I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss willingly.
He seemed wild, pinning me against the wall with relentless force.
Breathless, I whispered in his ear, "We should go out; there are people outside."
He suddenly lifted me up and kicked the door open.
At the end of the hallway was a bedroom; he kicked the door wide open and tossed me onto the bed, his body following closely behind.
In the darkness, I couldn't see his expression. His heavy breaths brushed against my ear. I reached out to unbutton his shirt and whispered, "President Chen, are you angry?"
He didn't answer; instead, he suddenly bit down on my lip with force.
"Mm..." I let out a soft sound.
Seizing the moment, he took control. I didn't resist; rather, I responded to him with enthusiasm.
A few hours later, he leaned close to my ear, breathing heavily as he said, "Cheng Huiyan, you're really something."
I reached out to caress his face and softly replied, "Isn't that why you sought me out, President Chen?"
He said nothing and simply got off the bed.
Moments later, the light turned on. He silently picked up his clothes and walked into the bathroom.
It wasn't until deep into the night that he finally fell asleep. I opened my eyes and gazed out at the thick darkness outside.
I quietly got up and opened a window.
