After the press conference ended, I let out a long sigh, feeling as if all my strength had been drained away. Chen Hao gently held my hand and said, "You did well, Wen Jing. You were amazing."
I managed to force a smile. "Thank you, Chen Hao. Without your support, I might not have made it through."
Just then, my phone suddenly vibrated. I took it out to see that it was a call from Zhang Cheng. I frowned, hesitating for a moment before answering.
"Wen Jing, I... I need your help." Zhang Cheng's voice sounded unusually hoarse, tinged with a hint of tears.
I scoffed lightly. "What’s wrong? Has that mistress Chu Qiao failed to satisfy you?"
"Please, Wen Jing. I know I've done a lot of wrong things, but... the company is about to go bankrupt. I'm really at my wit's end." Zhang Cheng's voice was filled with despair.
I fell silent for a moment, my heart swirling with complex emotions. Once upon a time, I loved this man so deeply. But now, his voice only filled me with disgust and anger.

The line fell silent. I took a deep breath and continued, "Zhang Cheng, I won't lend you any money. You need to take responsibility for the mistakes you've made."
"Wen Jing, you can't do this! I'm really at my wit's end!" Zhang Cheng's voice suddenly turned sharp. "Have you forgotten our past?"
I let out a cold laugh. "Past? When you betrayed me, did you think about our past?"
"That was all in the past! I need your help now!" Zhang Cheng began to shout hysterically.
I closed my eyes, recalling the memories of our time together. Those beautiful moments had long been tainted by his betrayal and cruelty. I took a deep breath and said firmly, "Zhang Cheng, I won't help you. Moreover, I have something to tell you."
"What is it?" There was a hint of unease in his voice.
"Do you think your company's bankruptcy is just bad luck?" I said coldly. "In fact, it's the result of your own actions."

I slowly revealed the truth: "I know about your cutting corners and replacing high-quality materials with inferior ones. I have a complete chain of evidence, including signed documents, testimonies from suppliers, and photos from the construction site."
On the other end of the line, I heard a gasp of terror.
"You... how do you know all this?" Zhang Cheng's voice had completely lost its composure.
I sneered, "That's not important. What matters is that if you keep pestering me, this evidence will end up on the prosecutor's desk."
"No... please! I'm begging you, Wen Jing!" Zhang Cheng's voice was filled with fear and despair. "I know I was wrong, I truly know! Just give me one more chance!"
