The girl lounged lazily in the luxurious carriage, resting her chin on her hand and daydreaming. Her eyes brightened when she caught sight of a man standing by the roadside.
She called out to the coachman, pointing at the man and commanding those beside her, "Bring him back!"
Two guards approached from behind, showing no suspicion as they seized the man and began to lead him away. Jiang Hao was trying to gather information and had no idea what was happening. Xiao Wanqing’s expression darkened as she silently cursed this rogue! She roughly pushed him away. “I have plenty of women in this courtyard; choose whichever you like. Don’t bother me.”
Men were all lecherous! They were greedy and lustful scoundrels! Xiao Wanqing thought angrily, only Gu Qinian was good!
Jiang Hao persisted, “I’ve chosen you.”
“What do you think you are?”
“Oh, by the way, those courtesans you brought in said they no longer want to help you deal with those ‘male companions.’”
Jiang Hao suddenly changed the subject. Seeing the astonishment on her face, he smiled and squinted his eyes. "I'm really curious, you’ve captured so many male companions, yet you don’t seem to favor them..."
Xiao Wanqing turned her head sharply. "What business is it of yours!" What was wrong with those women? They took her money and then betrayed her?
She ignored Jiang Hao and set off to find those people to settle the score. Just as she reached the corner, she turned back again. She vowed that she would make him regret provoking her! Yet, the calm smile in Jiang Hao's eyes made her feel a twinge of doubt deep within.
Recently, the courtyard was bustling with activity as Xiao Wanqing exhausted all means to deal with Jiang Hao.
She locked him in the dungeon, hoping to subject him to the torments of darkness, hunger, and fear... Yet, to her surprise, he showed up on time for breakfast with her the next day! Xiao Wanqing had no appetite for that meal at all.

Her pride wounded, she suppressed her anger. There was no need for her to get upset over such trivial matters!
With her anger in check, Xiao Wanqing smiled sweetly at him. "Young Master Jiang, we've taken care of most matters. You can collect some silver this afternoon and leave."
If she couldn't deal with him, letting him go should suffice, right? As long as he stayed far away from her!
"Why leave?" Jiang Hao asked. "Are you afraid you might develop feelings for me?"

"You brought me here, didn't you just want me to be your male pet? I'm already prepared to let you do whatever you want."

If it were Gu Qinian, she might consider it!
Jiang Hao scrutinized her. "Are you still thinking about that crush of yours?"

Jiang Hao seemed to anticipate her question. "The girls told me." He leaned closer to Xiao Wanqing and advised, "Wanqing, that guy is not worthy of you."
Xiao Wanqing was taken aback; it was the first time someone had commented on her relationship with Gu Qinian, and it was from Jiang Hao, who knew nothing!
"Wanqing, the only one suited for you is me."
His deep voice seemed to possess a bewitching power. Xiao Wanqing shook off the strange thoughts in her mind, but he suddenly grasped her chin and pressed her head down before she could resist, sealing her lips with a kiss.
