Chapter Five 0

Leaving the home that once held all my hopes and dreams, I walked alone through the city streets. The night was heavy, the streetlights dim, and the hurried passersby paid no attention to me, a weary woman dragging a suitcase behind her. My heart felt empty, as if all my emotions had been completely stripped away the moment I left, leaving only an endless fatigue and sorrow. 0

Time seemed to stop at that moment. I had no idea how long I had been walking or where I was headed; all I knew was that no matter what lay ahead, there was no turning back. 0

Meanwhile, in the home I had left behind, Cheng Yifan was engulfed in endless regret and pain. 0

When he returned to the empty room, all he saw were the abandoned pieces of furniture and a few old clothes I had forgotten to take with me. In that instant, it felt as if something within him had been violently torn apart. He approached the bed, gazing at the cold sheets, overwhelmed by a profound sense of emptiness and remorse. 0

He had once believed he could easily control everything. Su Ying's love and devotion had become something he took for granted, while his obsession with Lin Mengyao made him blind to the woman who loved him wholeheartedly. 0

However, when Su Ying truly left, he realized what he had lost. He recalled everything Su Ying had done for him, how she had selflessly stood by his side, while he repeatedly hurt her and trampled on her love. 0

Cheng Yifan suddenly understood that he had made a colossal mistake—one that might never be forgiven. 0

He picked up his phone and frantically dialed Su Ying's number, but each time he was met with the cold message: "The number you have dialed is unavailable." That voice seemed to mock his helplessness and regret. 0

" Yingying, where are you?" he murmured to himself, filled with endless pain and anxiety. He continued dialing until finally, on the last attempt, the call connected. 0

"Cheng Yifan, it's over between us," came my calm and steady voice from the other end of the line. It sent his heart plummeting into an icy abyss. 0

" Yingying, please don’t go. I'm begging you," his voice trembled with desperation as if trying to salvage everything he was about to lose. 0

"Cheng Yifan, I've had enough," I replied evenly, my tone devoid of any wavering. "All these years, I've been trying to maintain our marriage, but you have never truly cherished me." 0

"I know I was wrong, Yingying, please come back," Cheng Yifan's voice was filled with pain and regret, as if he realized he was losing the most important person in his life. 0

"It's too late," I replied tersely, my tone carrying a resolute coldness. "I've made my decision to leave, and I won't look back." 0

Cheng Yifan felt as if something had stabbed his heart. He could almost picture my cold, determined face at that moment. He closed his eyes in anguish, overwhelmed by endless remorse. 0

" Yingying, I will find you. I will definitely find you," he said finally, his voice imbued with stubborn determination. 0

"You won't find me again," I said calmly before hanging up the phone. 0

Cheng Yifan stood there holding his phone, lost in thought, filled with an overwhelming emptiness and despair. He realized that he might have truly lost Su Ying, the one who had once loved him wholeheartedly. 0

He began desperately searching for any trace of me, but each attempt proved futile. It was as if I had completely vanished from his world; no matter how hard he tried, he could no longer find any news of me. 0

As time passed, Cheng Yifan's regret and pain deepened. He started to reflect on his actions, recalling everything from the past; each detail felt like a massive irony that struck painfully at his heart. 0

He understood that the mistakes he made might never be forgiven. The care and love he once took for granted had transformed into a tormenting ache in his heart—a nightmare he could not escape. 0

Cheng Yifan knew that no matter how hard he tried, he might never be able to reclaim what he had lost. Yet he still refused to give up, desperately searching for the woman who had already left him, attempting to use his last efforts to mend the irreparable harm. 0

However, he would ultimately discover that some mistakes are forever unredeemable, and the love that was lost would never return to his side. 0
