Li Shouzhuo stared at the Liu in terror, her eyes vacant as if her soul had long been extracted, resembling a puppet being manipulated. 0

Tentatively, he called out "Madam" several times; his voice echoed in the silent room but received no response, like a stone sinking into the sea. 0

The Liu simply sat there, her face expressionless and frozen, as if she had lost her spirit. She murmured to herself, her voice low and hoarse, as if conversing with someone or perhaps talking to herself. The sound seemed to emanate from the depths of hell, carrying a chilling and eerie quality. 0

"Sister... is that you? Have you really come back?" The Liu's voice trembled slightly, filled with fear, anticipation, and the surprise of a long-awaited reunion. A strange light flickered in her eyes, sending shivers down Li Shouzhuo's spine. 0

Li Shouzhuo's heart sank suddenly, as if gripped tightly by an invisible hand. A chill surged from his feet to the top of his head, causing every hair on his body to stand on end. 0

He felt the temperature in the room plummet, as if plunging from the height of summer into the depths of winter. The air grew heavy and oppressive, as if unseen eyes were watching them from the shadows, sending chills down his spine. This bizarre atmosphere made him feel breathless. 0

He fought against his fear and leaned closer to the Liu, trying to discern what she was saying; her voice was so faint it was nearly inaudible. He pressed his ear to her lips, straining to catch every word. 0

"Why... why did you come back? Are you... are you here to claim a life? What do you want?" The Liu's voice grew softer until it was almost a whisper, like a wisp of smoke ready to dissipate at any moment. 0

Li Shouzhuo held his breath, focusing intently on her words. He vaguely heard her mention "revenge," those two words piercing his heart like sharp daggers. 0

A terrifying thought flashed through his mind: the Liu was possessed by the spirit of Liu Xu! As this idea struck him, it felt like thunderclaps echoing in his head. 0

This thought detonated in his mind like a bomb, freezing his blood and making time seem to stand still in that moment. 0

He recalled the Liu's recent strange behaviors—the coldness in her gaze, her hoarse and deep voice, her eerie and sinister smile… He remembered how she had been speaking to thin air for days. All these pieces began to fit together like a puzzle, gradually revealing a horrifying truth. 0

Everything seemed to point to a terrifying truth: The Liu was truly possessed by the vengeful spirit of Liu Xu! She had come for revenge, to claim his life! 0

He dared not think further; he feared that this dreadful truth would drive him mad. It was simply too horrifying, too difficult to accept. 0

He wanted to escape the room, to flee from this terrifying woman, but his legs felt as heavy as lead, immobilized as if something had nailed him to the ground. 0

All he could do was watch The Liu, gazing into her hollow, lifeless eyes, at her paper-white face, and her slightly trembling lips… He felt trapped in a nightmare from which he could not awaken. 0

He felt as though he were suffocating. He wanted to scream for help, but his throat felt blocked, producing only a hoarse sound, like someone had grasped his neck tightly. 0

"Why... why do you want to kill me? Why do you want to hurt me? I won’t let you go even as a ghost!" The Liu suddenly lifted her head, staring intensely at Li Shouzhuo, her eyes filled with resentment and hatred, sharp as daggers poised to deliver a fatal blow. 0

Li Shouzhuo trembled all over, as if struck by electricity. To his horror, he realized that The Liu's gaze was identical to Liu Xu's! That look was cold, filled with malice and hatred, sending waves of panic through him. 0

He wanted to explain, to defend himself, but his mouth wouldn’t open. It felt as if something had wrapped around his tongue, rendering it immobile; all he could manage was a muffled whimper. 0

"…Why do you want to harm me? Why do you want to kill me? You heartless wretch! I will make you pay with your life!" The Liu's voice grew louder and sharper, piercing through his eardrums like the screams of demons from hell, sending chills down his spine. 0

Li Shouzhuo felt his heart racing uncontrollably. He wanted to run away, but he couldn’t move. All he could do was stare at The Liu, at her eyes brimming with resentment and hatred, at her twisted and contorted face… He felt like a condemned prisoner awaiting execution. 0

He felt himself falling into an endless abyss, engulfed by darkness. Despair washed over him as he closed his eyes, waiting for death to arrive… 0

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his arm. He opened his eyes wide in shock and saw The Liu biting down hard on his arm. Her sharp teeth seemed intent on crushing his bones. 0

"Ah!" Li Shouzhuo screamed, struggling desperately to break free, but the Liu clung to him like a madwoman, refusing to let go. Blood flowed down his arm, staining his clothes. 0

At that moment, hurried footsteps echoed from outside, and with a loud bang, the door was flung open as several servants rushed in. 0

"Master, Madam, are you alright?" the leading servant asked in terror upon seeing the scene before him. 0

Li Shouzhuo felt as if he had found a savior and shouted, "Quick, pull her away!" 0

The servants hurried forward and, after much effort, managed to pry the Liu off Li Shouzhuo. 0

Even after being separated, the Liu continued to struggle, her voice hoarse and shrill as she cried out, "I want to kill him! I want to kill him!" The sound sent chills down everyone's spine. 0

Li Shouzhuo covered his bleeding arm, still in shock as he looked at the Liu. His heart was filled with fear and confusion; he could not understand what had happened to her or why she had turned into this. 0

"Master, what... what is going on?" the leading servant asked cautiously, looking at Li Shouzhuo. 0

Li Shouzhuo shook his head. He didn't know how to explain. All he could say was, "I don't know either. It seems like Madam has been possessed." 0

"Possessed?" The servants exchanged glances; they had never encountered such a situation and were at a loss for what to do. 0

"Master, should we call a priest to take a look?" one of the servants suggested. 0

Li Shouzhuo thought for a moment and nodded. "Yes, please go get a priest. The sooner, the better." 0

"Yes, my lord." The servant responded quickly and hurriedly ran out. 0

Li Shouzhuo looked at the still-struggling Liu, his heart filled with worry. He did not know if this Taoist could save her. 0

Suddenly, Liu stopped screaming. Her body went limp and fell to the ground as if she had lost all her strength, fainting. 0

Li Shouzhuo's eyes widened in shock. He saw Liu collapsed on the bed, her face pale and her breathing weak. 0

He rushed forward, lifting Liu and holding her in his arms. He gently patted her cheeks, calling her name with a trembling and urgent voice. 0

"Madam, madam, wake up! Please, you must not be in any danger!" 0

Liu slowly opened her eyes. Her gaze was dazed and hollow, as if she had not fully regained consciousness and had suffered great shock. 0

"What... what happened to me? How did I end up here?" Liu's voice was weak and feeble, like a gravely ill patient, as if she had just awakened from a deep dream, completely unaware of what had just transpired. 0

Li Shouzhuo held Liu tightly, his heart filled with fear and unease. He did not know what she had experienced moments ago that had left her in this state. He realized that her condition was worsening; he needed to find a solution quickly. Otherwise, Liu would truly be consumed by this nightmare, beyond salvation. What would he do then? 0

Outside the window, the wind howled, rain poured down in torrents, and thunder cracked like the end of the world was upon them, creating an atmosphere of oppression and anxiety. 0

Li Shouzhuo's heart sank like a stone into an endless abyss. He held Liu tightly as if clutching the last straw of hope, terrified that if he let go for even a moment, she would slip away from him. His heart was filled with despair and helplessness; he did not know how much longer he could endure or what else he could do. 0
