It was a night shrouded in torrential rain, and the entire university town had plunged into darkness. The howling wind whistled through the cracks of the windows, as if whispering ominous omens. I stood at the end of the corridor, tightly clutching the USB drive I had just recovered, my heart filled with relief. However, this joy was soon shattered by a nightmare. 0

The clock read 8:15 PM. I had originally planned to go to the lab to find my husband so we could head home together. Just then, a deafening clap of thunder split the night sky, accompanied by a blinding flash of white light that allowed me to glimpse a horrifying scene through the crack of the door. 0

A dark figure was gripping a girl's neck, her body half hanging over the railing. The look in her eyes was filled with fear and despair, yet she didn’t have time to let out even a single scream. My heart raced, as if it were about to burst from my chest. I didn’t hear the sound of something heavy hitting the ground, but I knew it was all over. The killer swiftly pushed the body down the stairs, his movements precise and practiced, as if he had rehearsed this countless times before. 0

I trembled all over, nearly dropping my phone, too afraid to lift my head. I feared that I might inadvertently meet those eyes again. I had seen him for a brief moment before—dressed in a black coat and wearing a black mask that concealed his face completely. That night, he had stood before me, cold and ruthless as he extinguished a life. 0

And now, he appeared in my line of sight once more, as if fate were repeating itself. Those heterochromatic eyes—one blue and one brown—had pupils so small they seemed almost unnatural. 0

As I turned, my eyes could only move stiffly, as if they belonged to something other than a human. In that moment, a chill shot up my spine to the back of my head, sharpening my senses. Run! This was my only chance to survive. 0

Without hesitation, I pushed open the tightly shut window. The howling wind and torrential rain lashed against my face like knives, the icy air mingling with my feverish body temperature, nearly causing me to lose consciousness. Outside was a pitch-black void, as if countless eyes were coldly watching me, suffocating me with their gaze. Fortunately, due to the broken window, the ladder from the school staff remained nearby, left behind in the chaos of the storm. 0

I didn’t hesitate any longer and quickly climbed down the ladder, escaping this place of death with all the speed I could muster. The height of the fourth floor made my heart race; each step felt like a race against death itself. When I finally reached the ground floor, that pair of heterochromatic eyes loomed above me, their icy gaze suffocating. I closed my eyes, protecting my stomach with my arms, and leaped down onto the grass. 0

The ladder fell beside me, narrowly missing my head. Ignoring the pain, I ran for my life! The university town had been plunged into darkness for a night due to the torrential rain, providing the killer with an opportunity to strike while also granting me a chance to escape. Meanwhile, I could feel that cold gaze behind me; he was right there! I had no idea how long I had been running. 0

The faint sound of footsteps made me hesitant to stop, but unfortunately, my strength had reached its limit. My vision darkened, and the last thing I saw was a pair of black boots stopping in front of me. In that moment, the world seemed to freeze. 0

I lay on the cold ground, my heartbeat gradually slowing, with only the sound of rain and thunder left in my ears. I knew that this nightmare was far from over. That pair of heterochromatic eyes lingered in my mind, as if reminding me that the truth was far more terrifying than I could ever imagine. 0
