Shen Jingyu took on the responsibility, personally helping Su Xing bathe, treating him like a little child. With his immense endurance, Shen Jingyu wrapped Su Xing up tightly and sent him out before taking a cold shower himself, washing off twice. When he went back out, he was careful not to let his chill reach Su Xing, so he deliberately kept his distance from the bed.
However, Su Xing slept restlessly and quickly pulled Shen Jingyu close to him, wrapping his arms around Shen Jingyu's. Finally, he felt a bit more at ease.
That afternoon, Shen Jingyu's mind wandered to many things; his mother's situation had become a pivotal point in his life. Soon enough, he would also have to deal with matters concerning his father. In recent days, he had received news of a secret promotion. At the same time, the organization was willing to reward Su Xing with a special medal for his outstanding contributions during this mission.
If Su Xing could fully recover his health, he might even become an unofficial member of their team. Shen Jingyu couldn't bear to see Su Xing take such risks. However, if he knew they could fight side by side without hiding anything from each other, their relationship would surely grow more comfortable.
Su Xing slept longer than expected and woke up to find it was already dark outside. Shen Jingyu had been sitting on a small sofa nearby, reviewing some documents.
"Did I sleep too long?" Su Xing's voice was soft and almost fragile as he stirred awake.
Shen Jingyu instinctively lowered his voice and softened his footsteps as he moved closer to Su Xing. He reached out to smooth back the stray hair from Su Xing's forehead. "No, it's not even six o'clock yet. Get ready; we're about to go have dinner."
"Then hurry up! I don't want everyone waiting for us," Su Xing replied, still feeling sore all over as if he had no strength left.
Shen Jingyu could see how difficult it was for him; in such a state, how could he possibly care for a child? During the upcoming treatments, who knew what kind of medication might be used? How could they ensure it wouldn't affect the child?
Shen Jingyu's mood darkened at that thought. While meticulously caring for Su Xing, he also pondered how to persuade him about the situation.
After some contemplation, he thought that He Xiaoqing might have some ideas.
When Shen Jingyu and Su Xing finally came downstairs, the family was gathered in the living room chatting. The youngest child was Gu Tongtong, who was already eighteen or nineteen years old; thus, the atmosphere wasn't too noisy.
Shen Tian Er was relatively older than her sister; they sat together discussing their favorite idols or gossiping about the entertainment industry.
"You two don't seem to be pursuing your studies at all! What do you both want to do?" Shen Zhengxin asked with a stern expression that made both children hesitant to approach him.
The questions being asked were undoubtedly a devastating blow for children of this age!
"Oh dear, with so many outstanding people in our family, here we are, just two good-for-nothings!"
"Nonsense! Every elder in the family has something to offer. You two, how can you just stay at home without doing anything meaningful?"
"Then let's just get married," Shen Tian Er said unexpectedly.
Shen Zhengxin was so furious he nearly waved his cane!
At that moment, Shen Jingyu and Su Xing came downstairs.
Shen Tian Er and Gu Tongtong quickly sought refuge.
"Big Brother, do you support us in finding jobs or finding partners?" Gu Tongtong asked directly.
As for Shen Tian Er, he was about to graduate and needed to find an internship. Since he was studying business management, he asked practically, "Big Brother, should I work under you or under Sister-in-law?"
"Under me? Can you handle the high-pressure work with daily overtime?"
"Under your sister-in-law? Do you know anything about jewelry design?"
Shen Jingyu even bluntly summarized, "You just want a place where you can charm the boss whenever you like! What’s the point of interning then? You might as well be a freeloader at home!"

Shen Huai Min was sitting nearby reading the newspaper, completely ignoring his uniquely minded daughter!
Shen Huairou took the initiative to check on Su Xing's health. As an expert in both Western and traditional Chinese medicine, she could assess Su Xing's condition just by feeling her pulse.
"Well, you need to rest more and take care of your health. Just eat what your grandmother has prepared for you; dietary supplements are part of the treatment."
"Thank you, Auntie," Su Xing felt truly grateful that the wife of such a prominent figure was attending to her health.
"What are you being polite for? We’re family! Let’s go eat!"
Everyone moved to the dining room, where a sumptuous dinner was prepared. The family-style table was divided into several areas. There were light and nourishing dishes suitable for Su Xing, spicy dishes favored by her friends, and comforting home-cooked meals loved by the elders.
It was clear that despite being leaders in their respective fields, this family lived vibrantly and joyfully.
Throughout the meal, Shen Jingyu quietly took care of Su Xing while Shen Zhengxin, Shen Huai Min, and Gu Zheng repeatedly tried to engage him in conversation but found no opportunity to join in.
Su Xing noticed this and couldn’t help but remind Shen Jingyu with laughter, "You don’t have to take care of me all the time; chat with everyone!"
"We're all family, what is there to talk about?" As soon as Shen Jingyu said this, everyone fell silent.
Shen Zhengxin glared, "Are you saying that our Shen Family's table manners are beneath notice?"
"No," Shen Jingyu replied coldly. Su Xing kicked him under the table.
After finally finishing dinner, Su Xing was surrounded by his two younger sisters as they headed to the living room to chat with their aunt and grandmother.
"Oh dear, you can rest easy at home! With two of the country's top doctors here, and us two lovely ones around, what is there to worry about?"
"Give us some time to bond with our sister-in-law! We need to build our relationship! You go do whatever you need to do!" Gu Tongtong boldly shooed Shen Jingyu away.
As he left, Su Xing gave a thumbs up to the little girls behind him.
Shen Jingyu finally went to the study to discuss some matters with the other three men in the family, aside from family-related issues.
In fact, Shen Jingyu's primary task ahead was to find his and Su Xing's father and figure out a way to persuade him to come. The matter regarding the Zhan Family Member was completely settled.
Shen Huai Min and Gu Zheng both felt a weight lift from their hearts. However, during tonight's family meeting, they had just learned that their elder brother was still alive!
Shen Huai Min's excitement was even more fervent than Shen Jingyu's!
Although Shen Jingyu had only spent six years with his father, they had grown up together as brothers! Blood ties run deep!
"Where is my brother? What injuries has he sustained? I will go find him myself; I must bring him back!" Shen Huai Min stood up, pacing as if he could not wait another moment!
