In the dark, damp cave, Alice knew that Leon's injury was urgent. She carefully applied the crushed herbs evenly onto his wound. The juice from the herbs seeped into the cut, causing a sharp sting. Leon couldn't help but wince slightly, but he held back any sound. 0

Seeing this, Alice made her movements even gentler and spoke softly, "It might hurt a bit; just bear with it. These herbs will help stop the bleeding and reduce inflammation." 0

After applying the herbs, Alice tore a clean strip of cloth from her skirt and meticulously bandaged Leon's wound. Her fingers deftly wove through the fabric, tying each knot tightly and securely. 0

During the process, she occasionally looked up to check Leon's expression, ensuring that her actions weren't causing him pain. Leon quietly watched Alice, the wariness in his eyes gradually replaced by a complex mix of emotions—gratitude and curiosity towards this stranger. 0

Once the bandaging was complete, Alice let out a gentle sigh of relief and said, "All done; it should be fine for now. But you still need to rest well to let the wound heal quickly." 0

Leon nodded slightly and said in a hoarse voice, "Thank you, Alice." She smiled in response, "You're welcome. You need to conserve your strength now." 0

To make Leon more comfortable while he rested, Alice began searching the cave for anything useful. 0

She found some dry leaves and branches and gathered them to create a makeshift bed in one corner of the cave. She also located a relatively flat stone to use as a temporary table beside the bed. Then she helped Leon slowly move to the prepared spot so he could lie down and rest. 0

In the following days, Alice woke up early each morning, leaving the cave to search for food and herbs for Leon. 0

The mornings in the forest were shrouded in a thin mist as Alice navigated between the trees. Drawing on her knowledge of plants, she gathered various edible fruits and herbs. Her skirt became damp with dew, and her hair was somewhat disheveled, but she paid no mind; her thoughts were solely on Leon's recovery. 0

One day, while searching for herbs, Alice accidentally scraped her arm on a thorn bush. 0

Blood trickled down her arm, causing her to gasp in pain. However, she simply wrapped a handkerchief around it and continued her search for herbs. Leon needed those herbs; her own injury was nothing in comparison. 0

After returning to the cave, Alice, as usual, began to change Leon's bandages. 0

She gently unwrapped the cloth strips and carefully examined the healing of his wounds. Seeing that the wounds had started to scab over, a look of relief spread across her face. 0

"The wounds are healing well. If you keep this up for a while longer, they should improve significantly," she said to Leon. 0

Leon looked at Alice and noticed the wound on her arm. "Are you hurt?" he asked. 0

Alice shook her head and casually replied, "It's just a small injury; it's nothing." 0

A flicker of emotion crossed Leon's eyes as he silently regarded Alice, his gratitude for her growing deeper. 0

In addition to treating his wounds and searching for food, Alice would spend her free time chatting with Leon. 0

She shared stories about modern society—skyscrapers, cars, airplanes, and the conveniences of technological life—all of which captivated Leon. 0

Leon would occasionally share some of his own experiences but always held back. Alice could sense his lingering wariness, yet their relationship gradually grew closer through these exchanges. 0

At night, a tranquil atmosphere enveloped the cave. Alice sat beside Leon, watching him drift off to sleep. 0

Her gaze was filled with tenderness and concern; in this unfamiliar world, she seemed to have found a unique connection. 0

The fates of Alice and Leon had become tightly intertwined due to this unexpected encounter. 0

Her attentive care for Leon was not only born out of kindness, but also a deep-seated obsession within her. She hoped to help this wounded man through his difficulties, and in doing so, she wished to find her own direction in this world. 0
