In a corner of Maple Leaf Village, Oliver began preparing for his date with Alice early.
His heart was filled with both nervousness and anticipation as he carefully selected the items he would use that evening. He rummaged through his wardrobe and pulled out a deep blue suit that had not been worn in a long time. This suit had been worn on special occasions, holding many beautiful memories.
He gently shook off the dust, meticulously arranging the collar and cuffs, hoping to present the best version of himself to Alice.
Next, Oliver headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner himself.
He carefully chose fresh ingredients, including tender chicken just bought from the market and fresh vegetables picked from his own garden.
As he skillfully chopped the vegetables, he imagined Alice's expression as she tasted the food.
For this dinner, he even baked a sweet apple pie, a dessert that Alice had once mentioned she loved.
As evening approached, the setting sun bathed the entire village in a warm orange-red glow.
Oliver carried his carefully prepared items to a quiet patch of grass outside the village.
He spread out a soft blanket and arranged the delicious food on it. Surrounding the picnic area were wildflowers he had picked himself, their vibrant colors adding a touch of romance to the scene.
When Alice received Oliver's invitation and arrived at the grassy area, she was deeply moved by the sight before her.
Oliver stood beside the beautifully arranged picnic spot in his crisp deep blue suit, smiling as he welcomed her.
“Alice, you’re here,” he said, his voice gentle yet slightly nervous.
Alice wore a light pink dress adorned with delicate white flowers, her hair loosely pinned up with a few strands cascading down her cheeks, enhancing her beauty. She looked at Oliver, her eyes filled with surprise and emotion.
“Oliver, did you prepare all of this? It’s beautiful.”
Oliver’s face flushed slightly as he shyly replied, “I hope you like it. I wanted to give you a special evening.” He gently took Alice’s hand and guided her to sit on the blanket.
They sat facing each other, enjoying a delicious dinner. Oliver occasionally served Alice some food, checking if she liked the flavors.
As Alice savored the dishes Oliver had made, her heart swelled with sweetness.
“Oliver, your cooking is amazing, especially this apple pie; it’s so delicious.” Alice’s praise brought a radiant smile to Oliver’s face.
After dinner, the sky gradually darkened. Oliver stood up and extended his hand, inviting Alice to dance. She gladly accepted, gently taking his hand as she rose to join him in the dance.
There was no band playing music, only the soft rustle of the breeze through the grass and the distant chirping of insects, yet to them, it was the most enchanting melody.
They danced gracefully under the moonlight, Oliver’s hand resting lightly on Alice’s waist while her hand rested on his shoulder.
Their gazes locked, and in each other’s eyes, there was only love.
Alice’s cheeks flushed slightly from dancing, and as Oliver looked at her, his heart was filled with affection.
Tired from jumping, they lay on the blanket, gazing up at the starry sky.
The stars twinkled like jewels embedded in a black canvas.
Oliver pointed to the sky, telling Alice the stories of the constellations.
"Look, that's Orion. Legend has it that he was a brave hunter..." Alice listened quietly, deeply captivated by Oliver's tales.
"Oliver, did you know? In my original world, there are many legends about stars too. But I feel that watching the stars with you and hearing your stories is the most beautiful experience." Alice turned to look at Oliver, her eyes sparkling with warmth.
Oliver felt a stir in his heart. He gently took Alice's hand and said, "Alice, ever since you came here, my life has changed. You are like a brilliant star, illuminating my world. I hope that every day from now on can be spent like this with you."
Tears of emotion welled up in Alice's eyes as she nodded slightly and replied, "Me too, Oliver. I cherish the time we spend together."
On this romantic night, Alice and Oliver's hearts were closely intertwined.
Meanwhile, in the shadows not far away, a pair of eyes silently watched everything unfold. In that person's heart, jealousy and anger were quietly spreading.
