Xu Shen could only repeatedly utter these words to comfort himself, as the events that had transpired left him utterly bewildered. 0

“Damn it, who the hell is messing with me? If this is just another joke, don’t blame me for turning hostile. Today is not a day for games; stop this nonsense!” 0

Perhaps it was Xu Shen’s furious outburst that began to have some effect; he sensed the atmosphere around him gradually easing. The dark clouds above seemed to dissipate little by little. 0

Once the weather cleared, Li Yingxue and Xu Shen found themselves facing a structure resembling a castle, standing majestically before them. This castle exuded an ancient aura, reminiscent of a long-forgotten and mysterious estate. 0

The walls were covered in moss, and thick vines clung tightly to them, giving the impression that this estate had fallen into disrepair long ago, neglected and unkempt. 0

Upon closer inspection, Xu Shen could vaguely make out some ancient inscriptions etched into the high walls of the courtyard. However, these characters appeared faded and worn by time, making them nearly impossible to decipher after years of exposure to the elements. 0

Driven by curiosity and unable to explain what lay before him, Xu Shen resolved to enter the estate and uncover its secrets. After all, having surveyed his surroundings, there seemed to be no better option available. 0

As he stepped into the estate, Xu Shen felt an unsettling atmosphere enveloping him. A putrid odor permeated the air, making him feel nauseous. 0

Yet inexplicably, this strange scent felt both foreign and familiar, as if he had been here before. He often experienced such sensations—moments when everything around him seemed eerily reminiscent of a past encounter. Despite his scientific mindset, he could not provide a satisfactory explanation for these feelings. 0

Lost in thought, a cold voice suddenly pierced through the silence and reached Xu Shen’s ears. 0

“You’ve finally arrived at this place.” 0

“Who are you? Who’s speaking to me? Where am I?” 0

Upon hearing that voice, Xu Shen froze momentarily; it sounded so familiar—like someone he had once been incredibly close to. The voice echoed in his mind as if it belonged to a loved one he interacted with daily. 0

“Do not proceed any further!” 0

The chilling tone cut through the air again, sending shivers down Xu Shen’s spine. It felt as though he had plunged into an icy abyss during the dead of winter; that penetrating cold seeped through his entire being. 0

Despite the ominous warning, Xu Shen did not halt his steps; instead, he continued forward. This was also a form of testing his limits. 0
