He is clearly the Crown Prince, but he doesn't act like it at all.
William didn't stay long, Elena thought, if the butler hadn't reminded, maybe they would have chatted a little longer.
When Elena went upstairs, Orly was completely sober.
She heard everything that happened downstairs clearly, so as soon as she saw Elena, she immediately winked and nudged her. "You said you weren't interested, but it looks like you two are getting along just fine." Orly sat up from the bed and said, "Prince William is so charismatic. Just now at the bar, he knocked down that guy in an instant."
She gestured vigorously at the air and immediately felt dizzy.
"Oh, I shouldn't have drunk so much," she lamented, holding her head in her hands. Elena hummed to herself.
"Serves you right."
That's what she said, but she still considerately walked to the bedside and massaged Orly's temples.
"Where's the housekeeper?"
She wanted the maid to cook a soup for Orly, wake up the wine, and just as she was about to speak, she suddenly remembered that she hadn't seen anyone else come in.
"They took a day off," Orly said, with a very comfortable expression as if she had just had a massage.
Since she came back, the two best friends have postponed several pajama parties for various reasons.
"Right now, it's actually a good opportunity."
"I talked to my family on the phone," Elena climbed back into bed, holding a pillow, sat next to Orly, and then looked at her, hesitating.
Orly blinked her eyes and rested her head on Elena's lap.
"Say whatever you want to say."
"Gert, I want to say sorry to you," said Elena, and then felt Orly stiffen in her arms.
Silently and quietly, the diffusion spread out. After a while, I heard Orly let out a spiritless sigh. Then, there was a stretch of silence. Elena wanted to console, but she just opened her mouth and didn't know what to say.
You can't just say, "Oh, don't be too sad, love can't be forced." Isn't that just adding insult to injury? Fortunately, Orly didn't let his emotions get the best of him. He turned over and smiled at Elena face to face.
It looks really ugly when you smile like that.
"Why is it so hard to like someone?"
Orly sobbed, speaking in a way that was nothing like her usual lively and cheerful self.
"I'm so great, why doesn't Gert like me!"
Elena didn't hesitate, "Because he's stupid."
Orly paused for a second, "Is it really okay for you to say that about your own brother?"
Elena had a look of indifference on her face.
If Gert knew that in his little sister's eyes he was just a big silly image, he would definitely cry.
"I don't want to like Gert anymore, Elena, let's find new happiness together! I want to find a man who is a thousand times better, no, ten thousand times better than Gert!"
"Okay." Elena giggled as she smoothed out the stray hair on her best friend's forehead.
The next day.
Elena set off for home, while at the same time, there was a solemn atmosphere in Vita Castle.
George Snowd sat in a wheelchair, scrutinizing the uninvited man in front of her.
William Vanderbilt, the most popular second prince in Country F. Now that Country F has just settled the war, the highly anticipated prince has gone to another country, which is thought-provoking. Mr. Snowd is not like his eldest son, who is all about expanding the business territory. He sees more and sees further.
Especially this His Royal Highness Prince William has been increasingly in the news recently, meeting Elena frequently in private, he has to consider carefully.
To be fair, William's status is not a big issue.
But Snowd still does not approve of Elena getting too close to this person.
He spoke in a cold tone. "His Royal Highness Prince William should be aware that Eileen is not at home today." William smiled, "Yes, Mr. Snowd. I have come today to bring you a gift."
He said, then gestured for the butler beside him to bring the things over. After a rustling sound, a faintly visible crystal box was carefully brought over by the butler. Mr. Snowd narrowed his eyes.
The crystal box opened, inside lay a golden jewelry entwined with gemstones and pearls.
"The Eye of God."
William nodded calmly, "Yes, this is the gift I want to give you. It is rumored to be the lost Eye of God from the time of Edward at the Weydon Church. Of course, what I'm giving you is not a replica."
Mr. Snowd had a moment of excitement.
But soon he calmed down.
"Such a precious gift, I'm afraid I don't deserve it."
Although he has a strong interest in the Eye of God and has even sent people to search for it at one point, William has not yet revealed his purpose for doing so. "As far as I know, the political power in Country F is not yet stable. Your Highness Prince William, although you have a high reputation among the people, your brother, His Royal Highness Prince Karut, has always been wary of you." Mr. Snowd's hand naturally rested on his wheelchair, and his sharp gaze seemed to penetrate William, seeing through his true nature.
"He would never hand his daughter over to someone with ulterior motives."
William paused for a moment, "Yes, you're right. I did come to X City to seek an alliance. I hope The Snowd family can help me."
Snowd was pleased with his honesty, "But you should also be clear that I won't let Eileen take any risks."
When Elena was mentioned, William's expression softened.
"I won't let her get into trouble."
He looked resolutely at Mr. Snowd, "Sir, I like Elena. I have made up my mind about Country F. I hope that after I have sorted out everything in Country F, you can let me marry your daughter."
