I, Fang Changqing, returned to my hometown in the Northeast after a failed venture, running a Psychological Counseling Room that barely managed to survive amidst the city's hustle and bustle. I was feeling the changes of autumn when suddenly, a frantic knocking at the door shattered the drowsy tranquility of my office. 0

"Come in," I responded. 0

No sooner had I spoken than the door swung open with a loud bang, and a man rushed in as if he were being chased by ghosts. His clothes were disheveled, his hair unkempt, and his eyes darted around erratically. 0

"Help... help me..." he gasped, his voice trembling. 0

I instinctively adjusted my glasses. "Sir, please sit down and take your time. What happened?" My tone was meant to be soothing. 0

The man sat down but fidgeted restlessly in his chair, avoiding my gaze. He gripped the armrests tightly, his knuckles turning white. 0

"I... I went to a place..." 0

"What place?" I asked gently. 0

"Yue Yuan Xu..." he mumbled, his eyes hollow like two dark pits. "A... terrifying place..." 0

"Yue Yuan Xu? Can you explain it more clearly?" 0

His body began to tremble uncontrollably, like a leaf in the wind. "There... there was a market... so many people... and a bunch of strange things..." 0

His words were jumbled, leaving me confused. "Could you... tell me everything from the beginning?" 0

Taking a deep breath, he finally managed to speak in broken sentences. "On the night of the full moon... Mountain Depths... an... an old village..." 0

I picked up my pen and noted these keywords down, pondering what on earth this was all about. 0

"The people there... they don't seem human..." He suddenly widened his eyes, fear filling his pupils. "They... they are doing business..." 0

"What kind of business?" I pressed, feeling increasingly uneasy about the situation. 0

"I... I don't know..." He clutched his head, screaming in agony. "But it feels... really terrifying..." 0

I tried to comfort him. "Don't be afraid, try to relax... think about something else..." 0

However, my words were as useless as a fart. 0

He suddenly lifted his head, his eyes wide with terror as if he had seen a ghost. "It's coming! It's coming!" 0

He screamed hysterically, pushing the chair away and bolting for the door. 0

"Wait!" I wanted to stop him, but it was too late; this guy was faster than a rabbit. 0

In a flash, he was gone, disappearing down the hallway as if he had evaporated into thin air. 0

I stood there in shock, my mind a chaotic mess. What was going on? Who was that man? Where did he come from? 0

What was this place called Yue Yuan Xu? Just hearing it sent chills down my spine. 0

I walked to the door and noticed a wooden plaque lying on the ground, unsure if it belonged to that man. 0

I bent down to pick up the wooden plaque and turned it over in my hands. 0

It was engraved with strange symbols that resembled some ancient script or perhaps a child's doodles. 0

A wave of inexplicable cold rushed from my feet to the top of my head, making my back feel icy as if something unseen was watching me with an icy stare that could freeze a person solid. 0

My instincts told me this was far from an ordinary case of mental illness; something sinister was at play. 0

There had to be some dark secret hidden here, and my curiosity began to brew. 0

I needed to get to the bottom of this; otherwise, my mind would be like a cat scratching inside me, restless and agitated until it drove me mad. 0
