Xu Shen was so tense that he could barely breathe. When he turned to look at the woman, he couldn't make out her features at all; his long hair was deliberately styled forward, obscuring most of his face. Yet, even with his face hidden, he could sense the ominous aura emanating from her. It was clear that this woman was not to be trifled with; otherwise, Xu Shen wouldn’t be feeling such a profound fear of death.
In the mirror, Li Yingxue wore an expression of amusement, seemingly calm and collected. Her face radiated a smug satisfaction, as if she were reveling in the misfortune that was about to befall him.
Faced with this situation, Xu Shen had no choice but to grab a plunger from the bathroom and wield it in front of him, throwing it at the woman before him. This act of defiance seemed to infuriate the people around him. Both the woman advancing toward him and the still Li Yingxue displayed anger on their faces, perceiving Xu Shen's resistance as a provocation.
The woman, who had been walking slowly, now appeared enraged. She raised her arms, her pale limbs devoid of warmth.
“Bring it on! I’m not afraid of you! I don’t care who you are; you won’t scare me to death!” Xu Shen shouted defiantly as he continued to retreat, matching his pace with that of the approaching woman. Meanwhile, the security guard Xiao Li had already fainted from the scene before him. It was hard to believe how this timid guy had been assigned to work as security; he seemed utterly unfit for the job.
“Wake up! What are you doing? It’s not time to pass out! Do you really want to just give up like this? I’m under so much pressure here!” Xu Shen yelled, shaking Xiao Li’s shoulders in an attempt to rouse him.
At that moment, something monstrous drew closer, its intent almost palpable. The creature opened its mouth wide just as it was about to close in on him. Feeling a deep sense of despair, Xu Shen chose to shut his eyes.
“Evil Beast!” A roar erupted from the confined space, causing Xu Shen to open his eyes once more. He was met with a dazzling blue light that illuminated the entire room.
The foul creature that had been inches away from him appeared to be subdued now, resembling a pig tied up tightly. The blue light transformed into what looked like ropes, binding the creature securely.
All of this transpired within mere seconds. What on earth was happening?
