In this instance, Manager Li's tone seemed somewhat weak, and Xu Shen was acutely aware that it appeared Li Yingxue's spirit had directed its resentment toward Manager Li, deliberately causing him to act this way. After all, how could the usually vibrant Manager Li speak in such a tone?
It was no surprise, considering the chaos in the restroom earlier; there was no way he could have cleaned it up in such a short time. Everything was the work of Li Yingxue's spirit. However, after overhearing the conversation between the two, Xu Shen realized that the true instigator of this situation was none other than Manager Li himself, and it was unlikely he would let Xu Shen off easily.
As he watched Manager Li’s face grow increasingly pale, Xu Shen thought it best to flatter him a bit and show some concern.
"Manager Li, you look quite unwell. Have you been under too much pressure at work lately? Perhaps you should take a good rest. Li Yingxue and I are just about to step out; where are you headed? We can give you a ride."
Upon hearing this question, Manager Li simply waved his hand dismissively. It was evident that his movements lacked energy; he seemed as if a strong wind could knock him over. This state of weakness was something Xu Shen had never witnessed during his time at the company.
"I really think you should let us take you home. We have nothing to do after work anyway!"
After saying this, Xu Shen stepped forward to assist the manager, gently pushing him along while signaling for Li Yingxue's spirit to leave this place and stop its mischief. If he were to find out that all of this was because of him, he feared for his job security.
Supported by Xu Shen, Manager Li made no further movements. He seemed drained of all strength and wore a puzzled frown on his face as if trying to understand why he felt this way.
Xu Shen kept glancing upward, thinking that since this guy was his boss, he couldn't let this lingering spirit reduce him to such a state. If something happened to the boss, they would all be in trouble; even if he wasn't fired, his job would still be at risk. He hadn't expected Li Yingxue's spirit to be so vengeful.
So Xu Shen continued to support Manager Li but felt an unusual heaviness in his body. He couldn't understand why someone who usually appeared so healthy could feel so heavy now. Struggling with the weight, he called for Li Yingxue to come help him. Seeing this, she rushed over to assist in supporting Manager Li as well.
