This was indeed not a dream; it had just happened. Yet everything felt so vivid to Xu Shen that he couldn't find a way to let it go. He couldn't understand why this guy was so ruthless. Did the lives of others truly mean nothing to him? What did this cold-blooded, unfeeling person want with him? Why had he suddenly appeared in Xu Shen's life? 0

Why was this guy always so fixated on him, claiming he needed to uncover the truth before deciding whether to eliminate him? Was he merely a puppet that could be manipulated at will? Did this person hold the power over whether Xu Shen lived or died? His heart was filled with questions and doubts, more so with a sense of unwillingness and helplessness. 0

"Are you scared silly or something? You usually seem so brave. Why are you acting like a woman today?" The voice of the spirit echoed again, filled with confusion. It seemed the spirit thought today's events were perfectly normal. Why was Xu Shen reacting this way? 0

From the tone, it was clear that the spirit was not far away, but when Xu Shen tried to respond, he suddenly felt an even colder presence around him. This meant that the spirit had moved closer once again. 0

"I told you to stay away from me! If you keep acting recklessly, I’ll just smash my head against something and end this right now. You’ll never uncover the truth behind these matters!" Xu Shen roared in anger. 0

A sharp cracking sound pierced the air as he spoke. In his earlier agitation, he had failed to notice his surroundings and accidentally knocked over a fish tank that had been sitting at the entrance, shattering it on the floor. The suffocating aura filled the space around him once more. 0

"I don’t know what you want from me. I’m completely exhausted. If you think I owe you something, then settle your scores however you like, but please stop tormenting me! I’ve had enough of this!" Xu Shen seemed to be on the brink of collapse, contemplating that he didn’t need to wait for this guy’s so-called judgment; he could leave permanently at any moment. Death felt like a release. 0

Clearly, his words were laced with fury. He knew that if he angered this person, his life could be in danger at any moment—there was no doubt about that. This proved that Xu Shen had reached a point where he no longer cared; he was no longer afraid of threats. 0

"Who gave you the courage?" The spirit's voice rang out again, colder than ever. 0

"Stop saying useless things! I’m done caring! Do whatever you want—kill me or torture me; it’s all the same!" Xu Shen replied defiantly. 0

"Very well then, let’s grant your wish!" 0
