The banquet began, and dishes were served one after another. A Jian politely poured wine and tea for everyone. The bald man picked up a large piece of White Cut Chicken and served it to the woman next to him, then took another piece for his wife. His wife, annoyed and ungrateful, stood up, bent down, and reached for the fish roe slices in front of A Jian with her chopsticks.
A Jian caught a glimpse of her fair and tender skin through her wide neckline. Supported by her bra, her breasts formed two bowl-like shapes, quite full and firm. As she dipped the fish roe slices into the soy sauce dish, they swayed gently with her movements. A Jian felt guilty watching her and noticed that the manager was also looking.
Of course, the young wife couldn't maintain the same position indefinitely; after serving herself, she sat back down. However, it wouldn't be long before she would return for more dishes, allowing A Jian to continue his covert glances.
Aside from A Jian, the entire table was filled with colleagues, making for a lively atmosphere as they encouraged each other to drink and eat. The bald supervisor was busy flirting with the woman next to him, hardly paying attention to his wife. Even A Jian felt sorry for her as she quietly ate and drank by herself, looking forlorn.
The woman beside him was young and alluring, with a sharp oval face and delicate features, but an average figure. In contrast, while the young wife might not be as striking as her, she was certainly not plain; her round face was sweetly charming, and her voluptuous figure was something she took pride in.
Feeling out of place among them and lacking conversation topics, A Jian made an excuse to leave the table after several rounds of drinks and dishes. He returned to Wen Qian's living room, where a group of impatient children were already playing noisily. A Jian found a chair to sit on and began entertaining the kids.
A few minutes later, the young wife from earlier hurried in, looking around as she headed toward the washbasin in the back. A Jian approached her to ask what she needed. She said she was looking for a clean wet cloth. Noticing a large stain of spilled juice on her chest, he helped her search but found nothing in the chaotic house.
A Jian suggested they go to Wen Qian's bathroom on the third floor where there were clean towels available. The young wife worried that the juice would dry and become harder to clean, so she asked him to lead the way. A Jian guided her to Wen Qian's room and squeezed into the small bathroom with her. She first took a towel to dampen it before rubbing it on the juice stain on her chest.
As she bent down to wipe at her dress, lifting the fabric with one hand allowed A Jian another glimpse of her partially exposed skin. She was scrubbing vigorously, causing her breasts to jiggle slightly, which made A Jian feel increasingly restless.
While watching her, he casually asked, "How did this happen?" To his surprise, his question made the young wife look like she was about to cry; it seemed to be yet another result of her bald husband's actions.
Seeing her distress, A Jian instinctively placed a hand on her shoulder. This only caused her to burst into tears. Alarmed, he gently pulled her into an embrace and patted her shoulder to comfort her as she sobbed against him.
Holding her close, he caught a whiff of her hair's fragrance and recalled how she had swayed earlier. His heart began racing uncontrollably. The young wife nestled in his arms could undoubtedly hear his heartbeat; for him, it was merely a man's simple impulse. However, for her—having been neglected by her husband that night—finding solace in another man's embrace stirred an unfamiliar feeling within her that matched A Jian's racing heart rhythm.
