Listening to Li Yingxue's spirit speak with such righteous fervor left Xu Shen even more bewildered. This guy, who had seemingly come to take his life, had turned into his protector and saved him. However, the way he had been saved was so sudden that even a big man like Xu Shen found it hard to accept.
As he pondered this, Xu Shen tried to calm himself down. Turning around, he noticed Li Yingxue in the office; her expression looked terrible, likely due to the immense shock from the events of the previous day.
Xu Shen felt a wave of guilt wash over him because all of this stemmed from his actions. If he hadn't invited Li Yingxue for hot pot yesterday, perhaps he wouldn't have witnessed that unforgettable scene that scared him so much.
Driven by guilt and the fact that Li Yingxue's spirit had saved him, Xu Shen decided to approach her and offer some comfort.
As he walked toward her direction, he noticed Li Yingxue's spirit seemed increasingly anxious, her expression suddenly tense. Sensing something was off, Xu Shen quickened his pace toward her.
At that moment, without warning, Li Yingxue suddenly collapsed to the ground, her chair flipping backward in the process. The loud crash shattered the silence of the office.
