That night, the bustling military base in the northwest remained lively, with fighter jets and helicopters soaring through the night sky, their engines roaring above. Supplies, equipment, and personnel flowed in and out in an orderly manner. 0

As usual, it was even busier than before, with the only difference being the flickering lights of various lasers in the distant dark sky. They seemed to dance joyfully, continuously bursting into brilliant sparks that excitedly pressed closer under the thick, dark lead clouds. The rumbling thunder echoed like the sound of countless troops advancing, a war drum signaling their approach. 0

At the end of the fourth floor of the administrative office building within the base, a room sat in darkness. The occasional flash of lightning illuminated the space, revealing a woman seated by the window. She was the head of this base and had ordered the recruitment of Li Mingtai and hundreds of other researchers from various fields—Long Chai Long Colonel! 0

Known as the Cold Noodle Ruthless Iron Lady. 0

Her expression was somber as she gazed at the stormy clouds outside, seemingly lost in thought. 0

Knock knock. 0

A knock sounded at the door. 0

“Report!” 0

A soldier’s strong voice came from outside. 0

“Come in.” 0

The door opened to reveal a young Major in his twenties. Upon entering and noticing the darkness of the office, he instinctively turned on the lights. When he realized his superior was sitting with her chin resting on her crossed hands, peering at him through her elegant metal-framed glasses, he sensed that his interruption had not been well received. 0

The young Major immediately stood at attention and saluted, avoiding eye contact with his stern superior. 0

“What is it?” The Colonel continued to glare at him before calmly asking. 0

“Report, Commander!” The Male Major straightened up stiffly before relaxing slightly. He then adopted a more casual tone to report, “I’ve drafted a preliminary list you requested with the Staff Headquarters and brought it for your review.” 0

With that, the Major approached and handed over a stack of documents he had been holding while waiting beside her. 0

The Colonel took the documents and began to read them intently. After a while, she suddenly furrowed her brow. “Hmm? This person… was once a deserter; then his deputy commander’s father caught him and threw him into the Catering Team as a cook for six months. He managed to get into an arts unit and was recognized as an all-around talent in music and performance within six months. Eventually, he applied for transfer to the Navy and was approved. In less than two years, he could pilot over thirty-five different types of ships. However, he was blacklisted by the Navy after impersonating a submarine captain and nearly ran aground while infiltrating foreign waters… After that… he entered the Air Force…” 0

Colonel paused, frowning as she said, “Who is this person… where did they come from, and how do they possess such extraordinary abilities, able to handle all three branches of the military?” 0

She flipped over the page of the resume and continued reading, “After joining the Air Force for a year and a half, they piloted aircraft privately over ten times, flying various Fighter Jets for more than two hundred hours. They discovered over fifty blind spots in domestic air defense radar. Hmph, quite impressive… However, due to unauthorized disassembly of over ten types of large aircraft that could not be reassembled, they were given a major demerit and subsequently removed from the Air Force. They then relied on improper connections to mix into the group army's infantry… even a pig-raising unit!?” 0

“A pig-raising unit?” Colonel looked up at the Major with some irritation. 0

“Report. I checked; their unit does not have a designation in the military files, so… it can only be referred to as a pig-raising unit. However, I investigated this ‘pig-raising unit,’ and they are not simple… They are proficient in jungle, mountain, and guerrilla warfare training and operations,” the Major reported truthfully. 0

“So, they are mixed into a special brigade. No wonder they lack a designation. Hmph.” After evaluating, Colonel sneered slightly and then asked, “This person seems quite interesting. However, I want to hear your reasons for selecting them.” 0

“Yes!” The Major stood at attention. “According to my thorough investigation, they possess comprehensive knowledge of the Navy, Army, and Air Force, which aligns well with our primary selection criteria. Although there have been several disciplinary actions recorded against them in their files, they have also achieved notable merits. They graduated from a military academy and come from a military district background; their personal loyalty is unquestionable. Most importantly… this person is not afraid of death.” 0

Colonel furrowed her brow tightly as she looked at the Major, making him feel somewhat uneasy; he couldn’t tell if she found him somewhat frivolous or overly naive. 0

Finally, she picked up the resume and contemplated for a while. She tapped her finger on the document before seemingly making a decision. She took a stamp and pressed it down on the name ‘Lu Feifan.’ 0

Weeks later, at the Northwest Military District Field Hospital. 0

In a third-floor ward, there were sounds of wailing akin to that of slaughtered pigs. 0

“I’m going to die!” This was a man’s voice filled with desperation, seemingly terrified of something. 0

“What are you shouting about?” This was a stern female voice that sounded like an interrogation. 0

Inside the ward, a young man in a hospital gown stood facing an aggressive nurse across from him. Between them lay a bed, resembling a standoff at Chu River Han Border—neither could do anything to the other. 0

The nurse looked at the young man with his striking bowl-cut hairstyle with frustration and annoyance. Outside the door stood many onlookers who were laughing and watching this scene unfold; it had become quite the spectacle in this otherwise dull ward since it began two days ago. 0

The female nurse held medication in her hand as she looked at her fellow patient with an incredulous expression. She had given injections to so many patients but had never seen a big man who was not afraid of death suddenly become terrified of getting an injection. 0

“Take off your pants!” the nurse ordered. 0

“I won’t take it off!” the man insisted stubbornly. 0

“Are you going to take it off or not?” The female nurse was getting angry, slapping the bed. “You’re too scared to get a shot in the butt, and you still pretend to be a soldier?” 0

“Who am I afraid of... I... I just faint at the sight of needles!” Dah Tou Bing retorted. 0

“Tch, look at you being such a coward. It’s just taking off your pants for a shot in the butt. Is it really that serious? When you were unconscious, I helped clean you up. What part of you haven’t I seen?” The nurse, holding the medicine, gave him a once-over and provocatively teased him, making him feel like a big, exposed target. 0

Dah Tou Bing’s face turned red with embarrassment, speechless and drawing laughter from the onlookers at the door. He pointed at the nurse and stammered, “You... you shameless woman!” 0

“Oh, I’m just being professional here. By the way, those three moles on your left butt cheek are quite unique,” the nurse boasted, adding insult to injury. 0

Another round of laughter erupted from the crowd outside, leaving Dah Tou Bing stuttering and unable to refute her. 0

“What’s so funny?” A deep voice came from outside. “Everyone step aside, step aside.” 0
