The girl who approached wore a sharp and sarcastic expression.
Su Mingxian frowned slightly, deciding it wasn't worth arguing with a young girl. "I'm looking for—"
"She's looking for her man..." Fat Aunt was furious; she had brought the girl here, as if she didn't exist.
With that statement, it was as if thunder had struck.
Ruan Jing's face changed dramatically, her voice piercing, "You're talking nonsense! Where in the Ruan Family do we have her man? She's clearly a fraud."

Though the last part was said quietly, Su Mingxian still heard it, and her expression instantly turned cold.
"A fraud? What have I deceived you about? Isn't this the Ruan Family? Isn't Shen Chi your grandson?" Su Mingxian shot back directly, not holding back. If they were going to be rude, she wouldn't be polite either. "Shen Chi has never failed to send you gifts during the holidays. So what, after receiving gifts, you don't plan to acknowledge him anymore? How truly heartless."
The Ruan Family members at the door were taken aback by her words. Before they could respond, Fat Aunt was already irritated. Shaking her fan dismissively, she said, "Ruan Family Sister, you should really manage this. A Jing is not a child anymore; how can she speak like that? Does she even know what manners are? Xiao Su has traveled all this way to find her family; how can you call her a fraud without even asking about her situation? Now that you've received gifts but refuse to acknowledge people, one must act according to their conscience."
The crowd nodded in agreement.
The faces of the Ruan Family members darkened immediately, and Ruan Jing's face turned red with anger. "So you're saying she's his wife?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, Su Mingxian immediately threw out a photograph. "This can't be fake, right?"
In the photo, a young man in military uniform had striking features, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes that exuded charisma. Beside him stood a girl, delicate and beautiful, her large eyes sparkling with life. There was no doubt it was them.
A neighbor leaned in to take a closer look and exclaimed, "Oh, I know this young man! He brought a huge pig's head to the Ruan Family during the Dragon Head Festival this year."

At the entrance of the Ruan Family's home stood a group of people. Grandma Ruan hurried over in her apron. "Is that really Brother Shen and Daughter-in-law? Look at this commotion; the children don’t understand. Please don’t take it to heart. Come inside for a glass of water; you must be exhausted. A Jing, hurry and get some water."
Ruan Jing turned away in anger. "I’m not going."
"A Jing," Grandma Ruan said with an unhappy expression.
But Su Mingxian directly refused, saying, "No need for that. I came here specifically to find Shen Chi—"
"Oh dear, you've come to the wrong place. Brother Shen isn’t here," interrupted Wang Fang, the eldest daughter-in-law of the Ruan Family. With a forced smile, she continued, "But I've heard he’s particularly busy; he barely drops by home before rushing off again. You know how it is—he’s just a country boy trying to make money in the city. Our family doesn’t really need those little gifts he brings. We’ve told him not to bring anything anymore, but he just won’t listen. What can we do?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, Grandma Ruan's expression changed drastically. "What are you saying? Stop talking!"
