Lu Tianyang walked over and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, gazing into the distance. The blue sky, white clouds, and vast ocean were all witnesses to their moment.
Today, he had finally become a legitimate husband to Ye Ya. Lu Tianyang thought to himself that he had never anticipated marriage like this before. However, Ye Ya ignited a strong desire within him to tie the knot. He was not afraid that marriage would rob him of his freedom; on the contrary, he wished to keep Ye Ya by his side for a lifetime.
Ye Ya felt as if she were dreaming. She had truly married Lu Tianyang, a man so high above her, living in luxury and privilege, who had disregarded everything to marry her.
She thought that no matter how big the news or how many storms they faced, she would endure it all. Because she firmly believed that this man would always be by her side, facing everything together.
“Are you hungry, my wife?” Lu Tianyang gently asked in her ear.
Ye Ya nodded, and then Lu Tianyang took her hand and led her to the restaurant. There were quite a few diners, but it seemed Lu Tianyang had made arrangements in advance; he had reserved a table in a private room with an excellent view. Ye Ya couldn’t help but wonder, “Lu Tianyang, did you plan to bring me here all along?”
A slight smile appeared on Lu Tianyang's lips as he poured her a glass of red wine. “My dear, I just wanted to give you an unforgettable day. Today is our first day of marriage; we must celebrate it well.”
She picked up the wine glass and nodded. Regardless of whether he had planned it or not, today was indeed a memorable occasion.
“Lu Tianyang, cheers!”
If marriage was about making mistakes together, then Ye Ya hoped she could make those mistakes with Lu Tianyang forever.
“Cheers.” Lu Tianyang felt a mix of frustration and amusement at her calling him by his name so often; this woman was now his wife yet still called out “Lu Tianyang” all day long. But that was fine; there would be plenty of time to teach her how to be a proper Mrs. Lu.
After dinner, the sun hung low in the western sky as Lu Tianyang took her hand back to their hotel. Their suite featured a stunning observation deck.
Ye Ya leaned against Lu Tianyang's embrace, watching the sun gradually set. The sunlight spilled over the ocean like countless pieces of gold scattered along the shore, shimmering beautifully.
The sea breeze gently tousled her long hair as Lu Tianyang twirled a strand around his finger, admiring the breathtaking sunset. Such a beautiful moment surpassed countless others.
“Lu Tianyang, what a beautiful sunset,” Ye Ya couldn’t help but exclaim. In her life, she had never felt so at ease while enjoying such a magnificent view.
“I’m glad you like it. When the stars come out tonight, it will be just as beautiful,” Lu Tianyang replied. He had already arranged for another special program after the sun went down as the sky gradually darkened.
Lu Tianyang turned on the music, and a gentle waltz began to play. He extended his hand gracefully, saying, "Beautiful wife, would you honor me with a dance?"
Ye Ya took his hand, and they swayed together in the room, their steps perfectly in sync. As the former planning department manager of the Ye Family, she had mastered dance back in college. Now, dancing with Lu Tianyang made her feel as if all her previous experiences paled in comparison. Perhaps it was the chemistry between them that infused their movements with the essence of love.
In that moment, Ye Ya realized she hadn’t felt this relaxed in a long time. With each step Lu Tianyang took, she felt transported back to a simpler time.
Her smile was captivating, reminiscent of a blooming lily, enchanting everyone around her.
Gradually, their rhythm began to falter. Ye Ya gazed into Lu Tianyang's fiery eyes, which seemed to ignite her from within, causing her steps to slow.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and noticed her nervous expression. A smile crept onto his lips as he said softly, "Xiao Ya, you look beautiful."
They held each other close, their noses almost touching, sharing warm breaths that brushed against each other's faces as if they could feel one another’s heartbeat.
Ye Ya couldn’t help but close her eyes. In that instant, Lu Tianyang's kiss descended upon her—gentle and tender.
As she wrapped her arms around his neck, it felt as if all her strength was being drained away with each kiss. She leaned heavily against him.
"Lu Tianyang, can you give me a little more time?" she asked, unable to suppress her request.
"Just listen to me and relax; I promise to be gentle," he replied.
Later on, Ye Ya weakly protested but shot him an angry glare. "You lied to me."
Lu Tianyang smiled and planted a kiss on her forehead. "I'm sorry, my dear."
Ye Ya found herself at a loss for words; even lying across him in the bathtub made her feel drowsy.
After washing her up, Lu Tianyang looked at her exhausted form with a mix of guilt and heartache. Once he finished cleaning her up and placed her on the bed, he realized that their grand fireworks celebration planned for that evening would likely go unseen by this woman.
At that moment, it was still early. Lu Tianyang walked out onto the balcony and made a phone call home to check on Chen Chen. After confirming that the child was safe at home, he felt relieved.
Chen Chen was a precious gift bestowed upon him by heaven.
In the middle of the night, Ye Ya woke up from her sleep, feeling slightly more energized.
She felt a bit thirsty and wanted to get up to drink some water, but she discovered that her legs felt as weak as if they weren't her own.
Lu Tianyang noticed she was awake and saw her trying to get out of bed. He quickly wrapped his arms around her. "Wife, where are you going?"
"Lu Tianyang, I want some water."
"You promised to call me 'husband.'" The threat in his voice was unmistakable. Ye Ya glared at him. "Lu Tianyang, can you show a little humanity?"
"Then just call me 'husband,' and I'll get you some water." Lu Tianyang had a mischievous look on his face.
"Husband." Ye Ya knew she couldn't win against this old fox in her current state.
"Good girl, wife. I'll get you some water." Lu Tianyang wasn't heartless; he quickly ran to pour her a glass of water.
After drinking a large cup of warm water, Ye Ya felt much better and lay back down, wanting to sleep again.
Lu Tianyang placed the cup on the bedside table and gently stroked her hair while supporting her head with one hand. "Wife, are you really that tired?"
"So tired," Ye Ya replied, feeling utterly defeated. "You don't care about me at all anymore."
Hearing her voice filled him with pain, and he quickly pulled her into his embrace. "Wife, I'm sorry."
"Lu Tianyang, you're doing this on purpose." Ye Ya refused to accept his apology.
"Alright, I promise I won't do that again," Lu Tianyang said, feeling a bit guilty for exhausting her like this.
"Don't touch me anymore, I want to sleep," Ye Ya mumbled as she lay on him, quickly drifting off again.
Once he confirmed that the woman was truly asleep, Lu Tianyang held her close, feeling a deep sense of satisfaction in his heart.
He thought to himself that Ye Ya would eventually be his, no matter what.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting speckles of light around the room, signaling the start of a new day.
Although Ye Ya felt utterly exhausted, she woke up out of habit. Turning her head, she looked at the man beside her. Now, they were truly husband and wife; it was really unbelievable.
Lu Tianyang seemed to sense her gaze and opened his eyes to meet hers. Ye Ya suddenly looked like a startled rabbit. Lu Tianyang chuckled; this woman was always so amusing.
"What’s wrong? Are you shy? You were all mine yesterday; you’ve seen everything already. Why are you embarrassed?" Lu Tianyang teased with a mischievous smile. After a night of rest, she should be feeling better by now.
"Shameless," Ye Ya gritted her teeth in response.
