Ye Ya turned over and nudged Lu Tianyang, clearly disturbed from her sleep. “Stop messing around, let me rest for a bit. It’s been a long morning.” Not only was she physically exhausted, but her heart felt heavy as well. Thankfully, Lu Tianyang was on her side today; otherwise, she didn’t know what she would do. Without Chen Chen, she feared she might go mad. 0

“Alright, my dear. I’ll let you off today. Just relax at home and eat whatever you want; the servants will take care of it. I have to head back to the company to meet an important client,” Lu Tianyang said before planting a kiss on her forehead, wishing he could shrink her down and carry her with him. 0

“Okay, go do your thing,” Ye Ya waved him off, pulling a blanket over herself. She often had to get up at night to feed Chen Chen and deal with Du Huiru as well. At least now that they were no longer in the Lu Family, things felt a bit easier; she had more freedom to do what she wanted. 0

After Lu Tianyang left, the Lu Family felt like a pot of boiling porridge. Fu Wan Jing, taking on the role of the weaker party, managed to persuade her parents to leave, which only made the Lu Family feel more guilty and highlighted Fu Wan Jing’s magnanimity compared to Ye Ya’s perceived immaturity. 0

The angriest person was Lu Old Man. A military man by background, he was used to commanding respect, and now it felt like Lu Tianyang had gone against his wishes. 0

“Dad, calm down. Don’t get too worked up; your health isn’t great,” Lu Jianming quickly urged as he had a servant bring over a cup of tea. Today’s events were giving him a headache as well. They were already married; could they really force a divorce? That would be ridiculous. 0

Moreover, seeing his son protect Ye Ya like that—would he really agree to a divorce? Besides, threatening with the company was no longer effective; he didn’t want to be an old man still getting involved in such matters. The company was thriving under his son’s management. 0

“What kind of nonsense is this? How can Ye Ya treat Wan Jing like that? It’s infuriating!” Lu Old Man exclaimed, his face turning red with anger as he couldn’t even drink his tea. 0

Du Huiru indeed favored Fu Wan Jing; after all, her background was far superior to Ye Ya’s status as an illegitimate child. But for the Fu Family to come directly to the Lu Family for retribution—did they even regard the Lu Family anymore? 0

Thinking about this made Du Huiru angry too; no matter what happened, they shouldn’t lose face for the Lu Family. Coming from a prestigious family herself, if it weren’t for Ye Ya, she wouldn’t have been humiliated like this. Now all she could do was sigh helplessly. 0

What frustrated them even more was that Ye Ya not only took Chen Chen away but also took Lu Tianyang with her. The house suddenly felt much emptier. 0

At Yiju Mountain Villa, Ye Ya woke up around noon. Guo Ma had somehow followed her here and rushed in upon seeing her. “Lady, lunch is ready. Please see if it suits your taste.” 0

“Guo Ma, you’re too kind. Where’s Chen Chen?” Ye Ya wasn’t picky about food and treated the servants politely—unlike Fu Wan Jing, who always acted superior and loved bossing them around. 0

“Chen Chen just fell asleep after being fed; don’t worry, Lady.” 0

Ye Ya sat down, feeling genuinely hungry. "Guo Ma, thank you for this morning. I know you notified Lu Tianyang to come back." If it weren't for her timely message to Lu Tianyang, perhaps Chen Chen wouldn't be here now. 0

"Lady, you are too polite. I only follow the orders of the young master. Please eat first; there's still soup simmering in the kitchen. I'll get it for you." 0

Guo Ma's son now worked under Lu Tianyang, and if it hadn't been for the young master who had paid to save her husband's life back then, their family might not be as happy as they were now. 0

After finishing lunch, Ye Ya called Tao Momo. The business license had been obtained, and the venue's price had been negotiated. Tao Momo had signed the agreement, so she planned to visit the company in the afternoon to check things out; after all, renovation was an art in itself. 0

Since Tao Momo had to manage the business, these tasks naturally fell to Ye Ya. She didn't want to waste too much time, and fortunately, the swelling on her face had gone down, making her presentable again. 0

After instructing Guo Ma to take care of Chen Chen, Ye Ya met with the renovation company to look at the venue. She had previously discussed with Tao Momo and conveyed their general ideas to the renovation company based on the venue layout. Before she knew it, it was already dark outside. 0

She glanced at the time. "I assume you all have a general idea of what I want. Please bring me the renovation design draft once it's ready." 0

"Of course, Miss Ye. Please rest assured; we will make sure you are satisfied," replied Xiao Ma, nodding. Having received payment from the client, they naturally wanted to ensure her satisfaction. 0

Time flew by without her realizing it. She wondered if Lu Tianyang was home yet and decided to give him a call. After a moment, he answered. "Honey, do you miss me?" 0

"Are you home yet?" Ye Ya asked, noticing that the man on the other end seemed to be in a good mood. 0

"Not yet; I'm tidying up and should be heading home soon. Honey, are you not at home?" If she were at home, she probably wouldn't have asked if he was back yet. 0

"I just finished discussing things with the renovation company," she replied, feeling a bit worried about Chen Chen, which was why she called him. It turned out he hadn't gone home either. 0

"Honey, where are you? I'll come pick you up." Lu Tianyang had nearly finished his tasks. Ever since marrying her, he found himself attending fewer social gatherings because all he wanted was to get home quickly. 0

“No need, I’ll go back by myself,” Ye Ya thought it was a waste of time; the Lu family coming here was out of their way. 0

“Come on, just tell me where you are. I’ll pick you up,” Lu Tianyang insisted, thinking that he had never picked her up before. This could be considered as picking her up from work, and now that he knew the address, he could come to get her more often. 0

Ye Ya felt helpless. She glanced at the time and had to tell him that she really thought it was unnecessary; she could just take a taxi home. 0

Ye Ya had rented an office in a relatively central location. The first and second floors were large shopping malls, while she was on the 15th floor. Although the rent was a bit high, she felt it was worth it. 0

Locking the door, Ye Ya planned to wait downstairs for Lu Tianyang and find a place to rest for a bit. She didn’t know if it was because she had just given birth, but she couldn’t move like she used to and needed to find some time to exercise. 0

As fate would have it, not long after Ye Ya came down, a few men rushed out from the bar. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was Jing Hao. She raised an eyebrow slightly; that jerk deserved whatever trouble he got into—his demise was none of her concern. 0

Watching them approach her direction, Ye Ya prepared to walk away, not intending to get involved in this mess. 0

Jing Hao, the notorious playboy, had accidentally offended the girlfriend of a gang leader at the bar tonight. He had merely approached her while she was drinking alone; who would have thought she was taken? 0

Seeing the fierce-looking group of men chasing after him, he feared for his life. If they caught him, he might really end up beaten to death. 0

In his desperation, Jing Hao spotted Ye Ya. He knew that seeking help from a woman at such a moment wasn’t very manly, but he was genuinely worried about being killed. He ran over to her. “Ye Ya, help me! If you don’t, they really will kill me.” 0

Ye Ya yanked his hand away. “Are you even a man? Why should I care if they kill you? We’re not close!” 0

Four burly men surrounded them, their faces twisted into terrifying grins. “You dare hit on our boss’s woman? You won’t leave here with even one hand intact today.” 0

Ye Ya assessed the situation and didn’t want to get involved. Besides, she despised Jing Hao. Had he ever considered her feelings when he treated her so cruelly before? 0

But Jing Hao saw her as his last lifeline. “Ye Ya, you can’t just stand by and watch! After all, I used to be your fiancé.” 0

"I can't believe you would say something like that," Ye Ya said, speechless. 0

"Stay out of it and get lost, or we'll take you down too." They were running out of patience. If they didn't teach this kid a lesson, how could they continue to survive? He dared to touch their boss's woman. 0

"Ye Ya, I'm technically your cousin now. If my brother were here, he wouldn't just stand by and watch. If you really don't help me, you won't see my hand tomorrow." Jing Hao knew it was pathetic to beg a woman for help, but pride meant nothing when losing an arm was at stake. 0

Damn it, Ye Ya cursed inwardly. Jing Hao was indeed Lu Tianyang's cousin; she wondered if he had arrived yet. 0

"Please, everyone, show some mercy and let my cousin go," Ye Ya pleaded. Hearing her words inexplicably calmed Jing Hao down; he trusted her for reasons he couldn't understand. 0

"What a joke! He won't leave here with both hands intact. If you don't get lost now, don't blame us for being rude. If his face gets messed up, that's not our problem." Suddenly, the group of thugs seemed to find something amusing. 0

"Aren't you the one who got dumped? And now you're protecting him?" They all burst into laughter. 0

Ye Ya frowned slightly. "Enough nonsense. No one is touching him today. Just name your price; the Jing Family has money." 0

"We don't care about money. If we don't teach him a lesson, how can we survive? This kid even dares to touch our boss's woman." 0

After hearing that, Ye Ya shot Jing Hao a glare. This idiot was bound to get himself killed by a woman someday. 0

"Get lost!" One of them shouted as he attempted to grab Ye Ya and pull Jing Hao out from behind her. 0

Ye Ya assessed the situation and realized they wouldn't let Jing Hao go easily. Before the thug's hand could reach her, she seized his wrist, and a loud crack echoed as bones clashed together. No one expected this woman to possess such strength. 0

"All together now! This little brat actually knows how to fight!" The others, realizing they had underestimated Ye Ya, charged at her like wolves. 0

"Why aren't you going to call the police?" Ye Ya was exasperated, still standing there like a block of wood. 0

Four against one, and Ye Ya found her fists powerless against their four hands. Jing Hao took a couple of steps away, but then felt paralyzed. If they caught Ye Ya, she would surely meet a terrible fate. 0

So, Jing Hao turned back, grabbing a piece of wood nearby. The two of them were now facing four in the alley. 0

"What are you doing back here?" Ye Ya shouted angrily. They all had martial arts backgrounds and were quite skilled; if this continued, she might not be able to hold her own. 0

"No way! If they catch you, it's over for you. Two against four still gives us a chance," Jing Hao insisted, though he was just a useless coward. Now, with the stick in his hand, his legs were shaking. 0

"Damn it, let's catch them both!" The man who had almost been choked to death by Ye Ya looked at her as if she were a sworn enemy. 0

"Great, now neither of us can escape. Jing Hao, are you brain-dead?" Ye Ya couldn't help but curse him, the guy who always managed to make things worse. 0

"I'm just worried about you! And you're blaming me!" 0
