Lu Tianyang organized her clothes and then drove home. By the time they arrived, it was nearly eleven o'clock, and he directly carried Ye Ya inside.
Ye Ya was too tired to fuss about anything. Her dress was already a mess, and as soon as they entered the room, she headed straight for the bathroom to take a shower.
Lu Tianyang first checked on the child and then instructed the maid to prepare two bowls of noodles. He figured that the woman probably hadn't eaten well tonight.
In the bathroom, Ye Ya looked at the red mark on her neck. That jerk had acted like a madman in the car. They had agreed it would only be for a moment, but now she wondered if that mark would even fade by tomorrow. It was simply unbearable; how could she face anyone like this?
As she was in the bathroom, Lu Tianyang waved his hand and called out, "Wife, come eat something. I had the maid make some Seafood Noodles. I know you probably didn't eat well tonight."
Faced with Lu Tianyang's thoughtfulness, Ye Ya's small anger dissipated instantly. "How did you know I was hungry?"
"In that kind of situation, how could anyone eat enough? Besides, after all that intense activity earlier, I saw you sweating a lot. You must be hungry. You've worked hard, my dear."
Ye Ya thought to herself that only Lu Tianyang could say such shameless things so casually. She didn't want to argue with him because generally speaking, she could never win a verbal battle against him.
Seeing her silent, Lu Tianyang reached out and patted her head. "Wife, eat more. Why are you staring at me?"
Without needing to ask, he knew she was definitely upset. Earlier in the car, he had insisted on engaging in some activity with her, but the feeling of being outdoors was completely different from being at home. He had already eaten a little before, so he finished his meal faster than Ye Ya. "Take your time eating; I'm going to take a shower. Next time we should find a better place. You liked it in the car, right?"
Watching her worry about being discovered while trying to endure it made Lu Tianyang find it amusing.
Ye Ya could no longer hold back and kicked at him. "Lu Tianyang, can you be any more shameless?"
"I can be, dear. Just wait for me," he replied with an evil grin before heading into the bathroom without provoking her further.
Ye Ya listened to his words and nearly choked on her noodles. She truly couldn't understand how he could say such shameless things so effortlessly.
After taking a shower, Lu Tianyang came out to find Ye Ya brushing her teeth again. This time, Lu Tianyang was more composed. "Wife, I’ll be on a business trip for about a week. Please take good care of yourself and Chen Chen at home."
"Okay, I got it. Let me help you pack," Ye Ya replied. She had known about the trip for a while, but seeing Lu Tianyang's concerned demeanor made her chuckle. It was as if he feared she and Chen Chen would starve without him. "Have you forgotten? When I was at the Ye Family, I mostly lived alone. You can relax during your trip."
Even though she was capable, Lu Tianyang still felt uneasy about leaving her out of his sight. It seemed like this was the first time since their marriage that they would be apart for such a long duration.
Neither Ye Ya nor Lu Tianyang expected to feel this reluctant to part ways, considering it was only a few days.
"Wife, you have me now." Life had not been easy for her at the Ye Family, but things were different now; he would always be there to protect her.
"Mm." Ye Ya nodded and opened the closet, thinking about what clothes he should take. In reality, she didn’t need to worry about packing; Zuo Kai would arrange everything. Yet, he enjoyed watching her busy herself.
"Lu Tianyang, should you take this tie? It won’t be too hot there, right? Can you take these two pieces?" Ye Ya asked while rummaging through the wardrobe.
"Sure, whatever you say, wife," Lu Tianyang replied without any objections, quietly watching her organize his things.
Ye Ya shot him a glance but continued to neatly arrange his clothes. Suddenly, Lu Tianyang walked over and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "Wife, you’re so wonderful."
"Don’t hold me so tightly; let me finish packing first," Ye Ya said as she tried to pry his hands away. However, he showed no intention of letting go.
"It’s fine; just toss them in. Wife, you smell so good." The thought of not seeing her for a week made Lu Tianyang sigh softly; life without her would be truly difficult.
"Lu Tianyang, stop it! You promised earlier," Ye Ya said, already guessing what he wanted as she continued to pack the suitcase while he playfully disrupted her efforts.
Lu Tianyang turned her around forcefully and said with a pitiful expression, "Wife, I’m going away for a week! That means I won’t be able to hug you for an entire week. Can you behave tonight?" He reached out for her as he spoke.
"It’s just a week! You make it sound like the world is ending! My waist is about to break," Ye Ya complained.
"I'll be gentle," Lu Tianyang said as he carried her to bed.
Ye Ya knew that a man's words in bed were absolutely unreliable, and in the end, she had no idea how she fell asleep. Lu Tianyang was used to holding her close, thinking that if she weren't beside him at night, it would feel very strange.
The next morning, Ye Ya lay in bed, feeling soft and languid. He brought the child over and placed him on the bed. "Wife, let's sleep a little longer."
Ye Ya playfully poked at the little one on the bed. After finishing his milk, he stared wide-eyed, blowing bubbles. Ye Ya couldn't help but laugh and cry at the sight. "Chen Chen, you need to learn to be a little lady; how can you act like this?"
"Wife, it's fine. Our Chen Chen will have suitors lining up from one end of the street to the other. Sigh, I guess we’ve let some brat take advantage of us," Lu Tianyang thought with concern.
"That's true," Ye Ya replied confidently about their precious child. Just as she finished speaking, Chen Chen suddenly burst into laughter, prompting both Lu Tianyang and Ye Ya to laugh along.
Unable to resist, Lu Tianyang scooped Chen Chen up again and showered him with kisses, causing Ye Ya to shake off her sleepiness.
Unbeknownst to them, their little one had already turned six months old. He was chubby and when he smiled, he had one or two adorable dimples. Lu Tianyang adored him immensely, always thinking that his Chen Chen was the most beautiful.
"Honey, it's about time; we should have breakfast," Ye Ya said, knowing that his flight was scheduled for eleven o'clock. To be honest, she felt a bit reluctant to see him go.
Ye Ya had already started feeding Chen Chen some porridge and other easily digestible foods as she prepared to wean him.
Fortunately, the little one wasn't too picky; he had started recognizing people and would reach out for her whenever he saw her come home.
After breakfast, Zuo Kai arrived. He personally carried out the suitcase that Ye Ya had prepared. He thought to himself that Lady didn’t really need to pack anything since everything had already been arranged at the hotel over there.
However, seeing the president's expression of pure happiness, he dared not say a word.
"Wife, just wait for me at home; I'll be back soon." With that, Lu Tianyang embraced Ye Ya and planted a kiss on her forehead.
“Hubby, have a safe journey,” Ye Ya thought she could smile, but the smile wouldn’t come. It was just a week apart, yet when Lu Tianyang’s car disappeared from sight, she realized how much she would miss him.
Without Lu Tianyang at home, she suddenly found the house too big and the bed in the room too wide. Ye Ya couldn’t sleep, so she simply brought Chen Chen from the nursery to sleep with her.
Ye Ya counted the days. Lu Tianyang had mentioned he ran into some issues and would likely be delayed for another two days. Despite the time difference, Ye Ya received messages from him every day.
It had been three days since she last went to the office. Although she checked in with the renovation company daily about the progress, she still felt uneasy. In the afternoon, seeing that Chen Chen was asleep, Ye Ya instructed Guo Ma and drove to the company.
The renovation company was making good progress. Ye Ya mainly came to check on the materials to ensure they weren’t cutting corners.
Lu Old Man missed his great-grandson, but that rascal Lu Tianyang had decided not to let them bring Chen Chen home. Now that he was on a business trip, Lu Old Man thought that as a great-grandfather, he should take his grandson back to the Lu Family.
So, Lu Old Man simply took people directly to Yiju Mountain Villa. Guo Ma couldn’t handle it and quickly called Ye Ya.
“Lady, you need to come back quickly; the old master wants to take Young Miss back to the Lu Family.”
“Guo Ma, I’ll be right back. Please don’t let anything happen to the child.” Ye Ya hung up and rushed back to Yiju Mountain Villa at record speed. By the time she got home, Chen Chen had already been taken away.
“Lady, I’m sorry. The old master brought several people with him, even in military uniforms; they just pulled our people away,” Guo Ma said, still shaken.
“It’s okay, Guo Ma. Don’t panic; I’m going to the Lu Family now.” Ye Ya tried to calm herself down. After all, Chen Chen carried the Lu surname; she believed they wouldn’t harm him. Still, she worried about whether they could take good care of him while Lu Tianyang was far away in America.
There were some issues with a project that had Lu Tianyang overwhelmed. Just hearing his voice on the phone made Ye Ya realize how exhausted he was.
Driving to the Lu Family, Ye Ya explained her purpose for coming, but she was stopped at the gate by security. They clearly didn’t want her to see her child.
“Please let me in; I’m Chen Chen’s mother.” Ye Ya was anxious. If they wanted to see the child, she could allow it, but why did they have to do it this way? She couldn’t even check if her child was okay.
Could these wealthy people understand her feelings as a mother? The child was still so small. The more she thought about it, the more anxious she became. The two security guards couldn’t hold her back; Ye Ya had no choice but to take action.
As they entered through the main gate, Lu Old Man and Du Huiru emerged. Upon seeing Fu Wan Jing holding Chen Chen, Ye Ya was taken aback. She knew how much Fu Wan Jing despised her; would that hatred be redirected towards Chen Chen?
"Chen Chen is the grandson of the Lu Family, and she naturally belongs here. We will take good care of her, so there's no need for you to worry. You can leave now," Lu Old Man said, tapping his cane on the ground to express his displeasure.
"Just go. We won't make things difficult for you. Wan Jing and I will take good care of Chen Chen," Du Huiru added. Now that Chen Chen had grown a bit, she looked even more beautiful, and Du Huiru found herself liking her more and more.
Ye Ya could trust the Lu Family members since Chen Chen was also their grandson, but she absolutely did not trust Fu Wan Jing to treat Chen Chen well. "Grandpa, Mom, if you want to see Chen Chen, you can do so openly. Why did you bring her back without a word? Chen Chen cannot be seen by Fu Wan Jing."
The Lu Family had their own intentions; they favored Fu Wan Jing as their granddaughter-in-law. If the child developed a good relationship with Wan Jing, then even if they divorced, custody of the child wouldn't be an issue.
As Ye Ya tried to move forward, she was blocked by two men in military uniforms.
"Don't push your luck. Throw her out of the Lu Family and don't let her back in," Lu Old Man commanded. Accustomed to giving orders, he didn't realize that despite Ye Ya's skills, she was no match for them and could only be dragged out by the two men.
The heavy, intricately carved iron gate slowly closed, shutting off her view.
