Ye Ya pointed at the three men on the ground. "They intended to assault a young girl. Look at her, this is my sister. If I hadn't arrived in time, these beasts would have succeeded."
The police looked at the woman before them, finding her somewhat familiar, but they couldn't recall who she was. However, upon glancing at the girl beside her, it was evident that she looked like a victim of an assault.
Ye Qi remembered the scene in the car earlier and felt nauseous, tears streaming down her face as she struggled to articulate her thoughts.
"Miss, we need you to come with us to file a report. Please rest assured, if this is indeed the case, we will ensure they are severely punished."
Hearing that they had to go to the police station made Ye Qi anxious and unsure of what to do. She turned to Ye Ya and said, "I don’t want to go to the police station. If Mom finds out, she’ll definitely kill me!"
Ye Ya approached her, noticing her distress, and gently patted her shoulder. "It’s okay, I’ll go with you. We’ll sort it out quickly; nothing will happen."
"Yes, miss, please don’t worry. We just want to understand what happened, and our police will protect the victim."
When Ye Qi heard that they would provide protection, she felt a slight sense of relief. If this incident were exposed, she would become a laughingstock in high society; how could she ever face anyone again?
"Alright, Ye Qi, let’s go. I’ll accompany you." After all, Ye Ya was also involved in this matter; it was only natural for her to clarify what had happened.
At that moment, Ye Ya's phone rang. She answered it. "Honey, something has happened; we need to go to the police station. No, I'm fine; don’t worry."
Upon hearing that Ye Ya was going to the police station, Lu Tianyang immediately handed the child over to Guo Ma and drove straight there himself.
After completing the report, it was nearly ten o'clock. Ye Qi had been crying almost the entire way and finally managed to explain the situation. Ye Ya sighed and said, "Ye Qi, next time you get angry, don’t go to places like that. Honestly, I envy you so much. Look how much Xiao Ma cares about you; as soon as he heard you were in trouble, he wanted to rush over."
"What am I going to do when Mom sees me like this? She’s going to be so angry! Sister, can I not go back?" At that moment, Ye Qi began to rely on Ye Ya; perhaps when she felt her world was crumbling down around her, Ye Ya's presence felt like an angelic rescue.
"You won’t be in trouble; don’t worry." Ye Ya took out a tissue and wiped her face clean; it was dirty from crying. They needed to head home so she could take a shower.
When Lu Tianyang arrived at the hospital and saw Ye Qi's condition, he was taken aback. "Honey, what happened?"
“It’s nothing, Ye Qi encountered two thugs, but they have already been caught.”
Lu Tianyang sighed in relief. Looking at her, he could tell she had been in a fight again. “Why didn’t you call me?” Anyone who dared to bully her was simply asking for trouble.
At that moment, Zhao Meiqin and Ye Tao rushed to the police station, seeing Ye Qi with her clothes all torn up. “Qi Qi, what happened? Tell Mom!”
Ye Qi felt a bit scared and didn’t know how to explain. Ye Tao glanced at Ye Ya beside him. “Xiao Ya, what’s going on?”
“It must be that wretched person who bullied you! Tell Mom, and I’ll deal with her!” Zhao Meiqin exclaimed immediately.
Lu Tianyang frowned. “Madam Ye, please watch your language.”
Seeing Lu Tianyang, Zhao Meiqin’s anger subsided a bit. Ye Qi tugged at her. “Mom, it’s not my sister’s fault.”
“Dad, don’t blame her. Let’s just take her home. She’s already learned her lesson tonight; I believe she’ll remember it,” Ye Ya said, glancing at Ye Tao. Now that she was a mother herself, she could understand the feelings of parents.
“Alright then, dear, let’s take our daughter home,” Ye Tao said. Looking at Ye Qi’s condition, he knew this girl must have caused some trouble. With Lu Tianyang present, Zhao Meiqin didn’t dare say anything more.
Lu Tianyang held Ye Ya's hand and looked at her. “Did you get into another fight? Did those fools hurt you? I’ll make sure they pay for this.”
“No, they were no match for me, husband. I’m so hungry; I haven’t eaten yet,” Ye Ya pouted at him.
Lu Tianyang gently ruffled her hair. “Come on, let’s go get something to eat. Those people from the Ye Family treat you like that and you still help them?”
“It’s different; Ye Qi shares half of my blood. How could I just stand by and do nothing?” If it were someone else, she might not have bothered with such matters.
“You silly girl,” Lu Tianyang said, holding her hand tightly as they left the police station. It was already late; how could they not be hungry? He took her to the nearest restaurant. At this hour, there weren’t many customers, and soon their food would be served.
“Dear, eat slowly. Tonight, Guo Ma made a lot of your favorites,” Lu Tianyang said as he served her a bowl of soup. Fighting was indeed a tiring job.
“You haven’t eaten much either, have you, honey? You should eat,” Ye Ya said, picking up a piece of braised pork for him. Lu Tianyang opened his mouth and found the pork particularly delicious. “I had a little. I’m just listening to you.”
Ye Ya smiled. After finishing their meal, the two finally headed home. Sitting in the car, Lu Tianyang glanced at her. “Wife, you don’t let me help with other things, but you have to agree to this one. I’ll send someone to assist you. Don’t worry; I’ll only send someone capable. It’s not right for you to come home so late every day.” If it weren’t for her insistence, Lu Tianyang wouldn’t want her to work so hard.
Ye Ya wanted to say it wasn’t necessary, but seeing Lu Tianyang’s expression left her no choice but to nod. “Alright, thank you, dear.”
Once they got home, Lu Tianyang remembered something. “Wife, tomorrow is Friday. We can’t let Xiao Lin take advantage of the situation.”
Ye Ya detected a hint of jealousy in his words and smiled. Seeing that there weren’t many family members around, she hugged him from behind. “You’re so silly, Lu Tianyang. I love you.”
The man being embraced by Ye Ya froze for a moment, unsure if he heard correctly. “Wife, what did you just say? Can you say it again?”
Ye Ya released her hold and dashed up the stairs. “If you didn’t hear it, then forget it.”
Lu Tianyang immediately chased after her. How could she not clarify such an important thing? After all, it was the first time she had said she loved him.
He caught up with her and hugged her tightly, resting his head on her shoulder. “Wife, what did you just say? I didn’t hear clearly.” He sounded like a spoiled child who had spotted a toy and was determined to have it.
“Lu Tianyang, it’s your ears that are the problem. I’m not saying anything more; I’m going to take a shower,” Ye Ya said as she pried his hands away and shook her head. Just before entering the bathroom, she couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Lu Tianyang, sometimes you’re really childish.”
Hearing this made Lu Tianyang break into a cold sweat. He had intended for her to shower first, but now he was determined to get an answer—there was no way she was going to sleep tonight without clarifying things.
“Hey, what are you doing in here?” Ye Ya exclaimed as she tried to lock the door but found that this rascal had squeezed in with her. She attempted to push him out but found he wouldn’t budge at all.
“Wife, if you don’t clarify things, don’t even think about getting out of bed tonight. I’ll tell you, whether you can attend that damn reunion tomorrow is still uncertain,” Lu Tianyang said with a wicked grin, wrapping one arm around Ye Ya’s waist like a cunning fox.
Caught off guard by his pressure, Ye Ya struggled to respond. She pointed at her chest and said, “Lu Tianyang, who do you think you are?”
Lu Tianyang chuckled. “I’m not concerned about anyone else, just you. This is the first time you’ve said something like this, and I’m afraid I might have misheard.” From the very beginning, they had chosen to marry each other solely for the sake of their child.
Ye Ya leaned in closer to his ear and whispered, “You jerk, I love you.”
Not wanting to hear more, she added, “If you didn’t catch that, then forget it.”
“Wife, I heard you. I love you too.” He cupped her face and kissed her lightly before finally letting go. After taking a few steps away, he turned back and said, “Wife, let’s wash together. I haven’t washed either; it’ll save water.”
“Lu Tianyang, enough already!” Ye Ya was furious; this man was truly pushing his luck.
“Alright then, wife. I’ll wash over here and wait for you,” Lu Tianyang thought to himself that he would deal with her later—there was no way she could escape his grasp.
“You big pervert,” Ye Ya gritted her teeth. His intentions were all too clear; being with him was not easy at all.
Lu Tianyang didn’t bother to argue further; he simply smiled knowingly as everything hung in the air unspoken.
When Ye Ya finished her shower and stepped out, she saw him outside with a cigarette in hand that he hadn’t lit yet. “Smoking again?”
“I’m not smoking; I just know you don’t like it. Come here, wife,” Lu Tianyang waved her over with an expression that suggested he wanted to discuss something important.
Ye Ya walked over and casually picked up some skincare cream from the table to apply. Suddenly, Lu Tianyang grabbed her arm. “What happened? Why is there a bruise here from earlier?”
With his press, Ye Ya finally felt the pain. Looking at Lu Tianyang's fierce expression, she wondered if he was being overly dramatic.
“It doesn’t hurt that much; I didn’t even notice it at the time,” Ye Ya said. Just as she finished speaking, Lu Tianyang pressed down again, causing her to frown. “Why are you being so rough?”
“Still claiming it doesn’t hurt? Next time, try getting into a fight and see how that goes. If anything happens, let me know,” Lu Tianyang replied, giving her a light tap on the head before walking out.
After a while, she found a bottle of bruise ointment in her hand. Ye Ya looked at him, feeling warmth in her heart.
He poured some into his hand and rubbed it together. “Just bear with it; we need to work out the bruise. Those three bastards clearly don’t want to live. Just wait until I get my hands on them.”
Lu Tianyang’s face was set in a grimace as he began to massage her injury. “Does it hurt?”
“It doesn’t hurt that much; I’m not that delicate,” Ye Ya retorted stubbornly, feeling as if his concern hurt more than the injury itself.
“Women should be a little delicate; you’re such a silly one,” Lu Tianyang said after finishing up. He ruffled her hair lightly. “I’m going to wash my hands; wait for me.”
In truth, Ye Ya wanted to say that it really wasn’t a big deal. Sometimes, this jerk made her feel more bruised than the injuries themselves.
