The Lobby Manager soon arrived and, upon seeing Long Shaotang, immediately bowed and nodded. "Young Master Long, how may I assist you?"
"Go get your signature drink and serve each of them a complimentary glass in their rooms. Make sure she drinks this," Long Shaotang instructed.
The Lobby Manager hesitated for a moment after taking the drink, but seeing Long Shaotang's expression, he quickly replied, "Understood. I'll take care of it." People like him were experts at reading the room.
Long Shaotang decided to change locations; instead of heading to the private rooms, he retreated to the bustling lobby outside, which was just as lively as the bar.
He gently swirled the red wine in his glass. If he were to make a move on Lu Tianyang's woman, it would undoubtedly anger him. Even now, Long Shaotang still thought about her day and night, willing to do anything to win her over.
Xiao Lin and her group hadn’t gathered in years. Some sang while others played truth or dare with increasing enthusiasm. Xiao Lin glanced at Ye Ya beside her, who had also drunk quite a bit. "Xiao Ya, are you alright? I can have someone take you home later."
Ye Ya nodded. "I'm fine." Tao Momo had left in a hurry; if she left too, it might dampen everyone's spirits. She glanced at the time—after half an hour, she would head home since she was now a married woman.
Ten minutes later, after finishing a song, Ye Ya felt a bit dizzy. She was someone who could hold her liquor well; these drinks weren’t particularly strong for her. She slapped her cheeks lightly and said, "Xiao Lin, I think I should head out now. Chen Chen is at home, and I'm worried."
"I'll take you," Xiao Lin offered, concerned.
"No need; you enjoy yourself. Don’t spoil the fun for everyone," Ye Ya insisted as she pushed him back down into his seat. As a mother now, everyone understood her decision to leave early.
Ye Ya rubbed her eyes and felt a bit unsteady on her feet. What was going on? Logically speaking, the aftereffects of the drinks shouldn’t be this strong.
Long Shaotang watched as Ye Ya stumbled out; a smirk crept onto his lips. He knew that women like her would want to return home early after spending too much time inside. She truly was a good mother.
He even counted his steps in secret as he approached her, suddenly wrapping his arm around her waist and taking her bag.
"Xiao Ya, how are you?" Long Shaotang asked with concern.
Ye Ya wanted to call Lu Tianyang, but with this man holding her bag, she found herself unable to push him away. "Long Shaotang, let go of me. It's disgusting."
"Why are you putting on a brave face? I'll help you get some rest; you've had too much to drink," Long Shaotang said, wrapping his arm around her and heading straight into the elevator for the guest rooms. They ascended to the Marriott Hotel, where a car was already waiting outside.
Hearing Lu Tianyang's tone, Xiao Lin furrowed his brow. "I'll check it out."
Xiao Lin dialed Ye Ya's number again, but the phone was turned off. Where could she have gone? Returning to the hotel, Xiao Lin used his fists to forcefully access the surveillance footage at the hotel entrance, only to discover that Ye Ya had not left the hotel during that time frame.
It had been so long; why hadn’t she come out? Xiao Lin began to gather information. He found the lobby manager and pulled him into a secluded corner. "Tell me where that woman went. Don’t try to lie; I’ve already seen the footage."
The Lobby Manager thought to himself that if he revealed anything, he would surely lose his job. "I don’t know; I really don’t know. There are so many people coming and going here; how could I possibly notice?"
Just as he finished speaking, Xiao Lin swung a punch at him. "Do you know who I am? Even if you kill me today, I’m still taking down drug dealers." The natural authority of a soldier made the Lobby Manager feel uneasy. Xiao Lin pressed his shoe against the man's face. "Are you going to talk or not?"
Facing this man, the Lobby Manager feared for his life. "I’ll tell you! That young lady seemed to have gone up to one of the guest rooms, but I really don’t know which one."
After further questioning and confirming that the manager truly didn’t know anything else, Xiao Lin released him and looked at the building’s floor plan. There were hundreds of guest rooms; where could Ye Ya be? Why hadn’t she gone home but instead went to a guest room?
Xiao Lin noticed there were cameras installed. Normally, it would be impossible for him to access them, but he took out his credentials and claimed he was on official business. No one dared to stop him; after all, everyone knew that the Xiao Family in Ning Cheng was not someone to provoke lightly.
Xiao Lin saw the man who was supporting Ye Ya into the elevator and furrowed his brow. What the hell did this bastard want? If anything happened to Ye Ya, he would definitely make him pay.
On the top floor, all the rooms were luxurious presidential suites. He couldn't control the situation from here, so he had to search room by room.
He knocked on a door, and the person inside opened it, looking quite impatient. Naturally, anyone staying in a presidential suite was not an ordinary person. Xiao Lin ignored him and rushed inside. "I'm on official business." He glanced around and saw a woman lying on the bed, who immediately hid under the covers.
"I'm warning you," the man said irritably. After searching for a while, Xiao Lin confirmed that Ye Ya was not there. "I apologize for the disturbance."
"Get lost!" The man angrily cursed Xiao Lin's ancestors before slamming the door shut.
After searching three rooms, he reached the last one, which was locked from the inside. He knocked for a long time without anyone answering, so he decided to break down the door. Years of military training had not been in vain.
Long Shaotang was taken aback when someone dared to break down his door. Upon seeing the man in front of him, his brow furrowed slightly. Wasn't this the guy who had been with Ye Ya? He had come looking for her so quickly.
