Ye Ya thought to herself: When did Zuo Kai manage to charm Long Shaotang so beautifully? What kind of relationship do you have with Zuo Kai? 0

Long Shaoxue's face turned even redder. Ye Ya smiled, "I've already talked to Lu Tianyang about your brother's situation. He has stopped the acquisition, so you can rest easy." 0

"Then how long will my brother be in there?" Long Shaoxue knew this was a bit excessive, after all, her brother was at fault first. But unless Ye Ya withdrew the lawsuit, she knew things wouldn't be that easy to resolve. 0

Ye Ya lightly tapped her fingers on the table, watching her look so anxious. "I will inform Xiao Lin. Are you satisfied now?" 0

Long Shaoxue didn’t expect Ye Ya to agree so easily and was somewhat incredulous. "You really agreed? You won't tell my brother?" 0

"Yes, just focus on being with Zuo Kai." This could be considered a benefit for Lu Tianyang's employees. 0

"Thank you!" Long Shaoxue finally felt relieved. As soon as she left Ye Ya's company, she called Zuo Kai. 0

"Zuo Kai, Mrs. Lu agreed! She won’t press charges against my brother." 0

Zuo Kai had just come out of the president's office. Hearing her joyful voice, he nodded. "The lady is very kind. I'll come pick you up tonight." 0

"Okay." Long Shaoxue was thrilled and headed straight back to Longmen. 0

Ye Ya pondered for a moment and called Xiao Lin. When Xiao Lin answered, she said, "Xiao Ya." 0

"Xiao Lin, I want to tell you something. I don’t plan to sue Long Shaotang." As soon as Ye Ya finished speaking, Xiao Lin frowned. "Xiao Ya, why let that scumbag off the hook?" 0

"I think he’s learned his lesson enough. Xiao Lin, thank you for everything you've done for me; consider this a personal favor, okay?" She couldn't just watch as Zuo Kai finally found someone and let it all go to waste. 0

"You can choose not to sue him, but he bullied you. I have to make sure he suffers a bit more; it won't be that easy for him to get out." Xiao Lin huffed. In fact, after being beaten up by Lu Tianyang and Xiao Lin, plus receiving special attention from Xiao Lin in prison, Long Shaotang had not had an easy time at all. 0

He had offended two bastards at once, and he wouldn't rest until he made them pay. 0

"Alright, let him suffer a bit. After all, he hasn't really done anything to me." 0

"Okay then, Xiao Ya, are you free tonight? I’d like to take you out for dinner." Xiao Lin thought to himself that this might be his last chance; he liked Ye Ya, and that was a fact. 0

"Sure, Xiao Lin. I also want to thank you, so I'll see you tonight." Ye Ya hung up the phone, thinking it was time to express her gratitude to Xiao Lin for everything he had done. 0

That evening, Xiao Lin arrived punctually at Ye Ya's company. It was his first time visiting her workplace. Ever since high school, he had known she was a strong girl; someone like her would surely succeed in whatever she pursued. 0

"Xiao Lin, I'm sorry. Please have a seat for a moment; I'll be ready shortly." Ye Ya felt a bit embarrassed and asked her secretary to pour him a cup of tea. Just then, her phone buzzed with a message from Lu Tianyang: "Honey, I have to entertain an important client tonight and will be late. You should eat without me." 0

Ye Ya glanced at the message but didn’t reply. If he wasn’t coming home for dinner, why should she wait for him? Did he think they were still married? 0

After about ten minutes, Ye Ya finished up her work. "Xiao Lin, I'm sorry. We can go now." 0

"No problem, Xiao Ya. I checked and found a nearby Cantonese restaurant with good reviews. Would you like to try it?" 0

"Sounds good! Let’s go for Cantonese food; I’m in the mood for something light." Ye Ya wasn’t picky about food; she could handle spicy or mild dishes. Back when she was with the Ye Family, she often accompanied various clients for meals and had developed a taste for all kinds of flavors. 0

Ye Ya looked around the environment; it was quite nice. This Cantonese restaurant had opened not long ago, and she hadn’t had the chance to try it yet. She thought it would be a good place to bring clients in the future. 0

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Xiao Lin produced a bouquet of flowers. Ye Ya stared at the vibrant red roses; they were strikingly beautiful. But could she accept these flowers? 0

"Xiao Ya, this is the first bouquet I’m giving you. Don’t you like roses?" Generally speaking, don’t women love roses? Besides, the shopkeeper said that roses were perfect for confessing feelings. 0

Ye Ya took the menu, feeling a bit awkward. "Thank you," she said, not wanting Xiao Lin to hold it for too long. In a restaurant filled with people, it felt disrespectful to keep him standing there. 0

"Xiao Ya, look at what you want to eat. Don't be polite with me," Xiao Lin said, glancing at her. It wasn't easy for them to have a meal together like this. 0

Ye Ya scanned the menu and picked a few dishes. She remembered what Xiao Lin liked to eat back in high school. However, when Xiao Lin saw her choices, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. "Xiao Ya, you still remember what I love to eat?" 0

"I just picked randomly. You should see if there's anything else you want," Ye Ya replied, averting her gaze from him. She felt a bit unsure about how to face Xiao Lin. 0

The meal was filled with unspoken thoughts. Xiao Lin was contemplating how to confess his feelings to Ye Ya, while she was trying to figure out a gentle way to express her own feelings to him. 0

After a long moment of thought, Xiao Lin looked at Ye Ya as she held the bouquet of flowers while they strolled towards the garage. 0

"Xiao Ya, I have something to tell you. Please don't rush me; just let me finish, okay?" Xiao Lin said, fearing her rejection. He wanted to ensure she couldn't interrupt him now that they had fallen into silence, which made him feel a bit nervous. 0

"Xiao Ya, we've known each other for so long. Even though I've been in the army all these years, I never forgot about you. Now that you're single again, could you give me another chance? I promise I will treat Chen Chen like my own daughter; you don't have to worry." After saying this, the tough man felt his face flush slightly under the night sky. However, since he was naturally dark-skinned, it was hard to notice any redness. 0

Ye Ya lowered her head, unable to meet Xiao Lin's gaze as she focused on the roses in her hands. "Xiao Lin, I'm sorry. I think I've fallen for Lu Tianyang." 0

That man was such a jerk; even though he had left her life, Ye Ya's heart could no longer make room for anyone else. 0

"Xiao Ya, you're lying! How could you possibly love that jerk?" Xiao Lin felt a mix of anger and helplessness. 0

Ye Ya nodded slowly. "I know he's a jerk and often drives me crazy, but he has gradually taken over my life. I think this must be love; I've gotten used to having him around. Xiao Lin, you'll find someone who truly loves you. I'm sorry." 0

Xiao Lin sighed deeply, feeling defeated. "Xiao Ya, are you really sure about this? You two are already divorced." 0

“Xiao Lin said he wants to start over. I want to give him a chance. Don’t worry, this time I will think it through,” Ye Ya didn’t want to deceive him, as she had always considered him a friend, and friends shouldn’t lie to each other. 0

“Alright then, I’ll wait for you to see his true colors. Let me take you home; you wouldn’t refuse me that, would you? Silly girl, even if you don’t want me, I’m still your friend.” Xiao Lin was a man who would never force Ye Ya into anything regarding matters of the heart. 0

When they arrived at Yi Ju Mountain Villa, Xiao Lin watched her walk inside before he drove away. 0

Lu Tianyang stood on the balcony of the second floor, watching as Xiao Lin dropped her off. He felt a surge of anger when he saw her accept the flowers he had given her. He reminded himself not to act impulsively; he didn’t want to scare her after their relationship had finally eased up a bit. 0

“Lady, you’re back. The young master has been back for a while now,” Guo Ma whispered, noticing the flowers in her hand. Her brows furrowed slightly. 0

Lu Tianyang came downstairs, and Guo Ma discreetly stepped away. He glanced at the flowers and remarked, “These flowers aren’t pretty, my dear. You actually accepted such ugly ones?” 0

Ye Ya set the flowers aside and rubbed her shoulder. “It was his first time giving me flowers, and there were so many people at the restaurant watching. I couldn’t just let him lose face.” This was the truth. She glanced at Lu Tianyang’s expression; it was clear he was feeling jealous, which made her chuckle inwardly—such a petty man. 0

“Have you eaten? Do you want me to cook something for you?” Lu Tianyang tried his best not to look at the bouquet. 0

“No need, I’m full.” 0

“You run off to have dinner with someone else without caring about me and our daughter,” Lu Tianyang said sourly as he picked up the bouquet. “I’m allergic to pollen; I’ll take these flowers out.” 0

When did he become allergic to pollen? Ye Ya thought to herself, realizing he was clearly jealous. This time his reaction was somewhat better; at least he didn’t start an argument right away. They had quarreled countless times over Xiao Lin. 0

Lu Tianyang indeed took the flowers out but tossed them straight into the trash can before heading upstairs without even glancing at Ye Ya. 0

After a while, Ye Ya also went upstairs and saw Lu Tianyang playing happily with their daughter. She wanted to go over and hug Chen Chen, but Lu Tianyang quickly moved her hand away. “Chen Chen and I have already taken a bath; don’t touch her.” 0

Ye Ya sighed, glancing at the time and realizing it was getting late. She had no choice but to give up. "I'll go take a shower first." 0

"You bad mommy, going out to eat and coming back so late to see Chen Chen! Chen Chen, let's ignore mommy!" Lu Tianyang held Chen Chen tightly, refusing to let Ye Ya have her. Ye Ya could only shake her head and mutter "immature" before leaving. 0

When she finished her shower and came out, Lu Tianyang had already managed to put Chen Chen to sleep. In this regard, he was indeed a competent father. 0

"Chen Chen is asleep; don't wake her up," Lu Tianyang said in a lowered voice as he stepped outside. 0

"Oh," Ye Ya glanced at him and followed him out, not noticing that Lu Tianyang had stopped walking. She bumped into his back and rubbed her nose. "Why did you stop all of a sudden?" 0

"I like to stop. But you, your mind is clearly not in this home anymore," Lu Tianyang replied, watching Ye Ya accept flowers from Xiao Lin and even let him walk her home. It made him feel uncomfortable; everything felt off. 0

"Immature," Ye Ya thought, knowing he was jealous of Xiao Lin. However, she didn't want to explain herself to this insufferable man. 0

"Hmph, Ye Ya, you're something else," Lu Tianyang said before heading straight back to his room. He instinctively tried to go to the master bedroom but realized he seemed to be in the wrong place when he reached the door and turned toward the guest room instead. 0

Ye Ya found it amusing; sometimes Lu Tianyang was really childish. Fine, she admitted she was doing it on purpose just to see how jealous he would get. It was actually quite entertaining. 0
