More than half a month ago, Qiao Nuo discovered that her boyfriend, Shen Fengye, was cheating on her with her friend, Ni Yue. Heartbroken, she found solace in her father, who devoted himself to comforting her. However, just as her father planned to return to handle a business crisis within the Qiao Family, it became too late; he had incurred a massive debt and suffered a stroke due to the immense pressure. Now, he lay in the hospital.
Today, Qiao Nuo came to the hotel specifically to gather evidence of Shen Fengye and Ni Yue's affair. Her father's medical expenses were substantial, and with her credit cards frozen, she had no choice but to resort to this desperate measure of photographing them to blackmail them.
She was not someone who could swallow her grievances silently; since these two had acted unkindly, she would not hesitate to retaliate.
Little did she know that the person in the room was none other than Jin Chengyan!
She could only blame herself for not checking the calendar before stepping out.
"Now that you know I'm not a reporter, can you let me go?" It seemed that taking the wrong path led to no good outcome. She would have to find another way for her father's treatment costs; if all else failed, she might have to swallow her pride and borrow from those snobbish relatives.
Jin Chengyan scoffed lightly. Upon realizing she was the bankrupt heiress of the Qiao Family, his wariness lessened somewhat, but it did not diminish his annoyance.
"Leave." Jin Chengyan turned his back, unwilling to see someone who irritated him.
Qiao Nuo pouted. This Mr. Jin certainly had quite the temper. Moreover, she felt sorry for her phone; with no money on hand and her phone gone, it would be difficult for the hospital to contact her in the future.
However, she couldn't continue to argue about her phone; after all, it was already a great mercy for Jin Chengyan to let her go. He was a powerful figure in Qin Cheng—decisive and influential—his word was law!
If only half a month ago someone like him had lent a helping hand to the Qiao Family, they wouldn't have fallen into such ruin. But then again, what could be done? The Qiao Family and Jin Family were simply not familiar enough with each other.
Qiao Nuo let out a soft sigh and turned to leave.
Just as she took a step outside, the door to the suite was flung open from the outside. Before Qiao Nuo could comprehend what was happening, a barrage of camera flashes erupted in front of her, and seven or eight figures resembling reporters rushed in, armed with cameras and recording devices!
Qiao Nuo was completely stunned. Alice, whom Jin Chengyan had called over, was a reporter?
“Miss Qiao, after the Qiao Family's bankruptcy, have you really fallen to the point of selling yourself for money?”
“Miss Qiao, how much do you sell for?”
“Miss Qiao…”
Questions were hurled at Qiao Nuo one after another. These inquiries made no sense to her. Why would her bankruptcy lead to her selling herself for money? What connection did these two situations have? And those people's gazes—why were they so revolting?
She found herself backed into the room, but those reporters showed no signs of giving up; they were determined to extract something from her!
Just as Jin Chengyan was about to step into the room, he suddenly heard commotion at the door. Frowning, he turned back and was met with blinding flashes of light. The reporters were so brazen; what on earth were Ding Sheng's security guards doing?
Before he could express his anger, one of the reporters charged in holding a recording device: “Do you have any objections to this kind of transaction involving money and flesh?”
This was a question Jin Chengyan couldn't comprehend either. He shot a sideways glance at the reporter, already unable to restrain himself from calling for security!
“Isn't this Mr. Jin Chengyan, the president of Jue Feng?” A sharp-eyed reporter recognized him, and instantly, chaos erupted in the suite!
It turned out that the bankrupt heiress Qiao Nuo was engaged in a financial transaction with the CEO Jin Chengyan!
Silence fell as Jin Chengyan noticed Qiao Nuo, surrounded by reporters and equally bewildered, her face reflecting confusion. From the questions being thrown at her, it was clear they were not targeting Jin Chengyan.
He cleared his throat, and as soon as he opened his mouth, the reporters fell silent. "If you continue to spread baseless rumors, I reserve the right to pursue legal action against you."
His unusually cold voice caused the temperature in the suite to drop several degrees. Indeed, this was Jin Chengyan; dealing with a few newspapers would be a trivial matter for him.
Meanwhile, Qiao Nuo finally understood why everything had turned upside down. She spotted Ni Yue and Shen Fengye observing from the doorway.
