The car arrived at Jin Mansion, and Jin Chengyan wasted no time dragging Qiao Nuo out, roughly pulling her into the living room.
Qiao Nuo had no idea what was happening as she was thrown onto the sofa, her head hitting the cushions.
She covered her head and looked up at the furious Jin Chengyan. "Jin Chengyan, are you out of your mind? What have I done to deserve this? And let me make it clear, I do not like you at all, not even a little! This does not violate our contract!"
Thinking back to Jin Chengyan's vague comments in the car, Qiao Nuo felt a surge of anger.
Was this man really so narcissistic that he would randomly claim she had feelings for him?
It was undeniable that Jin Chengyan was indeed impressive; he had qualities that attracted women, and Qiao Nuo couldn't help but feel drawn to him.
But that was far from liking him!
Jin Chengyan, however, seemed unfazed by her protests.
He took out his phone and played a recording.
"Qiao Nuo, let me tell you, if you're in sales and can't talk your way through, then you might as well use your body! Of course, I'm not saying you should sell yourself. In this world, money can move mountains. You know Mr. Zhao? He loves those little starlets. Recently popular ones like You You and Ruan Shengyu—I've heard Mr. Zhao has a thing for them."
"Haha..."
"Don't brush this off; it's a piece of advice I'm giving you."
"Fine, then I'll arrange for one or two starlets for Mr. Zhao tonight."
The recording abruptly cut off.
Inside, one voice belonged to Qiao Nuo, while the other was that of a salesperson from the company.
But she couldn't recall when she had ever said such words.
As she looked at Jin Chengyan, her expression was one of confusion, but his eyes were filled with nothing but fury.
Suddenly, Qiao Nuo realized an undeniable name mentioned in that recording—Ruan Shengyu.
“Qiao Nuo, I told you before, Ruan Shengyu is mine. You dare to use such despicable means? You have quite the nerve!” Jin Chengyan slammed his phone onto the coffee table.
The phone crashed down hard, causing both it and the table to sustain varying degrees of damage.
“This matter hasn’t gone your way. If anything happens to her, not even a hundred of you could make up for it!”
In the face of Jin Chengyan's wrath, Qiao Nuo understood that he believed she was responsible for whatever had happened to Ruan Shengyu.
Suppressing the pain in her forehead, she stood up from the sofa. “Jin Chengyan, I want to make it perfectly clear to you: I found out about Ruan Shengyu's situation online! As for your accusations, I can only say that there’s no need for further words when one is already wronged!”
Qiao Nuo truly had no idea how this situation had unfolded.
“Then how do you explain this recording? Is that voice not yours?” Jin Chengyan pointed at the broken phone. His trust in Qiao Nuo was minimal, and prior to the incident involving Ruan Shengyu, he hadn’t acted rationally.
Qiao Nuo was left speechless. The voice was hers, but she couldn’t remember when she had said those words.
So many events had unfolded in recent days; there hadn’t been any time to spare.
“Then let the police investigate. After all, they’re already involved. I have nothing to fear if I’m innocent. If they find me guilty later on, I’ll just deny it then!” Qiao Nuo would never admit to something she hadn’t done!
Jin Chengyan let out a cold laugh. "Call the police? You know she's a public figure, yet you want to report her? Your intentions are more venomous than a snake's!"
With that, Jin Chengyan slammed the door and left.
